I've just finished telling White what happened when he was staying with Sam. White had a moment to process it all until I decided to stand up.
He noticed and said, "Where are you going?"
"Back to camp, White. Come on. We can continue there." I replied.
White then got up as well as we made our way back to my camp. While we were on our way, White questioned me.
"Your excellency..." He gulped.
"What is it, White?"
He gave some time to relax and asked, "I think you said that I lost my memory or something."
I gave him an honest answer, "Well, at this current time...You do seem like you lost your memory but I have already made sure that you weren't affected by the memory block."
"Memory block? What is that?"
I told him, "Now that you realize this is a virtual world...Have you considered trying to exit out of it."
"You mean like logging off?"
White then tried to do a gesture as if he was pulling up a menu. There was no log off button. You can't get out.
"Wait a minute...did Queen Sam knew about this?"
"She won't know that...Considering what we are trying to do here, the effects is still on going. Only the two of us aren't affected by it. The memory block that is."
"What is this memory block?"
"You remember when I told to you about the sponsor that Sam got? From that dude."
"Yeah, what of it?"
I said without hesitating, "He's dead. Someone else is handling the maintenance outside..."
"Wait what? What do you mean?" White was definitely confused.
"It is exactly that, White. He was murdered by apparently two guys. Hopefully you remember what and who are The Champions of Chaos."
"The Champions of Chaos...they...are not good people...?"
I sighed, "Almost there but not quite." I shake my head and told him, "Long story short, they are looking for you because of your special innate talent. Your time stopping and space bending abilities."
"I guess I do remember having that kind of ability..." expressed White.
"2nd long story short, this time. They are two of them that are after you as well as the others."
"The others?"
"We leave 'the others' part for now." I shrugged, "Right now, you should know that one of them inside this world while the other is observing him from outside. We are here outside because we are trying to stop this Chaos Champion."
"Can't we all band together with the other forces if the game suddenly hijacked by outsiders?"
"We can't...it's because of the Chaos Champion's ability. He...blocked all of the memories outside of this world. Those affected by it only know that this is the real thing and they all believe they are a leader of their own forces. Plus, the Chaos Champion hides himself from the public. We would band together if we have a reason to do so. At this point in time, Virtue is still unrest with all of the chaos from all over."
"So there's no way they would want to even eliminate the Chaos Champion since he is pretty much a nobody."
"And the only one who seems to care about this is you, Cyclone White. I'm only helping you out but now you are in this...hazy phase...It is more troublesome than you think it is..."
White was feeling remorse, I'm sorry for dragging you into my own problems..."
"Enough. I've seen you being miserable enough for the day. I don't need more of your sob story. Your wasting your regrets on me instead of Zenith. Even in this hazy phase of yours, you're still an idiot."
"Zenith..." White looks down as he said that.
Just as the mood was getting dim, White noticed that he was wearing a necklace.
"I don't remember having this necklace before..."
"That's the gift that Zenith gave you before we got into this mess." I clarified. "That crystal on the necklace their is set as a reminder for you. A reminder that you should not forget about her."
"Zen..." White slowly said.
I raised my eyebrows and told him, "It took her sleepless night to refine that crystal. It may be unremarkable for anyone else but it is probably the most precious thing in your life. It's only second place when compared to the maker itself."
White then suddenly stops and kneel down to the ground. I stopped and looked at him. He was at a lost for words.
"You probably want to know when did this Chaos Champion suddenly appeared."
White does not respond.
"I'm 100% sure you are listening. So I tell you this, it happened exactly as the time when you were planning to leave Spectrum. That's when the entire realm of Virtue heard a loud thundering storm. It was as if a god has come down to this land. And the very next moment, the clouds turned chaotic purple."
White finally looked at me.
I continued, "The clouds suddenly sweeps to ground level and began covering everyone with it. The entirety of the land was shrouded in chaotic purple clouds. These clouds are a curse. A curse that blocks off certain parts of our memories. I was saved by Violet's protection from the outside world. She disconnected me from the main server, causing me entering a creepy empty world of reconnecting. She put me back in once the clouds was at the sky."
"But...what about me? You told me that I survived as well...How?"
"Saying it is easy. But explaining it, I doubt I can even understand what happened...."
"What are you talking about, your excellency?"
I scratched my head and then shouted at him, "That thing! It saved you. You held it tightly as the cloud engulfs you. You told me that the crystal resonated. And before you were able to realize it, the cloud was gone. In other words...she saved you."
"Zenith..." White hold the crystal necklace tightly.
"Now come and follow me back to camp, Lord White." I turned back and walked, "You are probably wondering what happened after the clouds."
And with that, White followed me with a rekindled spirit as we continue recalling on what happened after the initial attack from The Champion of Chaos, Memento.
