"I'll take him." A teenage boy picks another boy among 2 other boys.
"Then I'll take him." Another boy picks the person next to me.
After that, they all turned away from me and started playing. I tried to say something but my mouth did not move at all. I wasn't even picked to join any of their team. It was like I'm not there at all. Was something wrong with me? I'm honestly not sure why they would not want to play with me. It's not like I have some horrible background or anything. I was just another ordinary kid.
Except for thing of course. I was the only kid who have not unlocked their Infinitum Energy. Usually you would have unlocked it by 12 years old but I'm already 15 and there was not a single hint of me being able to use magic. These days, magic are the most essential thing for everyone. It powers up almost every device you can see right now. But then again, that goes the same way for electricity. I just don't quite get the thinking of most people who considers that you need to have the ability to use magic to be able to be considered matured. Was I not matured enough?
"White!" Someone familiar approached me as I was seen sitting at the end of a small classroom.
It was Sonozaki Wakana. I looked very young. This was way back during elementary school. Sonozaki consoled me as I was left alone. He came to me and talked to me for hours. Before I realized it, we became best friends. I always relied on him on most things. Without him, I would always be left behind in anything. Sonozaki will always make sure that I get to join in any group activity. While that was great and all, it all start to fall apart once the two of us had separated class.
It was a hard time for me but eventually I met Yukimura Airi and a few other acquaintances. Slowly after that, Rulend Soft and Blax Tank became my friends. They didn't mind if I didn't have any sort of magic yet. The two of them see for how genuine was I.
"You really can't do anything with it, huh?" Rulend was wondering.
This was back when we locked ourselves inside the library. The teacher had forgotten about us during recess. If it wasn't because of Rulend's own investigative ability, we would be stuck there until the end of the day. I was not able to do anything at all but continued to rely on others. This keeps on happening even toward high school life.
"Useless..." A faceless person told me that.
"Hey! Stop bullying him!" Blax came forward alongside Haze Kazama and Lore Pidea.
The three of them were able to save me. From the bully who kept on insisting that I'm a useless human being. Additionally, Rider Blade, Yukimura Airi and Zone Helmine actually went above and beyond to stop the bullying for good. Before I realize it, I'm already surrounded by a number of wonderful people that cared for me. They know how weak I was but they also now how strong I am. I usually lead them whenever we do some kind of fun activity together.
Everything seems great until I met Haruhiko Hosuke. He was a bit rough around the edges but he has a good heart deep down. Eventually we became best buddies. Sonozaki will sometime check in to see if I'm alright or not. He always does that even when I have already established my own circle. Eventually, Hosuke introduced Yin Kirin to me and Kaym Famine joined us as well. Mei Xue was also there to help me out.
We all faced everything together. Even after obtaining my time stopping and space controlling abilities, these guys remained the same. Even when we nearly won The Magic Duel. Sonozaki Wakana and Team Stardust was always there for me. But it all changed once we finished high school.
I was forced to let go of my high school life and move out someplace else. During the transition, I ended up enrolling in Infinite Academy. I thought it would be hard adjusting to this new life but in all honesty. Without someone as annoying as Yumiko, my life would be dull. Azreal was able to entertain me with all of his antics. Lala intently took care of me without sulking at all. Everyone was there when I need it the most.
But even so...it was all for naught. Even after all those training I did to make myself stronger physically and mentally. I still failed to do the one thing that I always wanted to do. And that was to give back what they all had gave to me.
"Was it all for nothing?" A huge venomous familiar voice can be heard.
"You..." I remembered who it was.
It was the dragon inside my body. Even after all this I still don't know what its name was. All I know, the dragon have been willingly giving away its power to me during my time of need.
The dragon continues, "You, who I have watched for years now...I notice that it always has been the same reason. Your lack of confidence is what makes you weak."
"True." I nodded.
"You've relied too much on your ally. You are not so different than that Queen. You were only using them for your own benefit."
"What are you talking about...I'm not using my friends..." I told the dragon.
It replied back, "Friends...That's the word that you love so much, isn't it. You should have take the opportunity of their kindness and use it as a stepping stone for yourself."
"That's nonsense!" I shouted. "Without them, I wouldn't have gone this far."
"And it was because of them, you are at this point. You care too much for them that it deludes yourself from your true potential. Why keep going when you can end it swiftly and continue with your own life."
"That's just wrong." I shake my head. "I am not like that. I would never step over them. Through the bonds I've made so far. I am who I am today because of them. I am Cyclone White."
The dragon then laughed and said, "So you're going to remain stubborn are you?" It laughed again and told me, "Very well...then allow me to open your eyes and see what true potential is."
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"Accept me. I'll take over this fight for you, Cyclone White." the dragon volunteered.
I asked it again, "Are you sure about this?"
The dragon responses, "Aren't you always relying on those things you call 'friends'? Isn't this the same situation as well?"
"You're not wrong." I nodded. "But relying it all on you would only detriment my own body.
The dragon finally said, "You would immediately have agreed if its for that feathered dragon..."
"Zen..." I remembered.
Of course...the dragon is right. I would do anything just to help her out. I will do anything I can just to protect her.
"What's your favourite colour?" Zenith's voice lingers over my mind.
"After all those times...I still haven't gotten to the point where I could answer that to her..." I laughed, "It's just a simple question, White...what's taking you so long...?" I smiled as I said that.
I looked back at the dragon that was staring at me and said, "I honestly don't know anymore..."
The dragon then suggested, "Then what about if you don't have to do anything at all?"
"You can do that?" I wondered.
It nodded and explained, "I'll take care of this for you, Cyclone White."
"Very well." I finally gave in.
The dragon then roared as loud as it could. It was ear shattering that's for sure. But the dragon was very delighted to hear my answer.
"Thank you very much, Cyclone White. And all it takes is a little push...from yourself...I can't believe it..."
"What are you talking about?" I questioned it.
But my questions were ignored as my vision started to become dark. I could no longer see anything else. The next thing I know, I hear the dragon's roar once again...This time however, it sounded terrifying and intimidating...it is ready to fight...
Although she may have already know it already, I will still do my best to find the time to answer her question.
Take care of yourself, Zenith and remember to always keep going...I love you dearly...
