"I'm sorry. I wish I could change what I did," Haydee said as she sat on the bed. Kriss was packing her things into three separate suitcases. Haydee wanted them to stay and figure something out, "Maybe if Uncle Finn's family came back to visit they could keep us safe?"

"They will help us keep you safe. In New Orleans. It's just for the summer. Until we can plan our next move." Kriss folded up yet another camisole, "Do you want to take all of your shoes because we might need another bag?"

"Auntie Bex says that leaving things behind is just an opportunity to buy more things,"

"Yeah, we're totally getting you a summer job. The Mikaelson's have you way too spoiled,"

"Says the one who gave me a diamond necklace for my birthday. And didn't you get a tennis bracelet for Yule?"

"And a pearl choker and three pairs of shoes. Not the point," Kriss said and they both laughed.

"We really have to go?" Kriss stopped folding and looked at Haydee, "Can we ever come back?"

"Maybe. You'll be off to college next year anyway," Kriss said.

"I'm not leaving for college. I was promised the three of us could go backpacking through Europe,"

"He said what?" Kriss asked surprised. Finn hadn't said anything about that type of plan for next year.

"Just something he said in our lessons. I guess that's all changed now. Am I grounded?"

"Of course not. It wasn't your fault. I don't know how many times I have to tell you that?" Kriss started packing again and filled the first suitcase.

"Are we flying?"

"Finn thought it best we just drive. Nice road trip and you do have a convertible now. Or else we'd have to ship the car anyway." Haydee got up and started to empty out her drawers.

"At least we get to visit New Orleans. You know they say you can feel the magic in the air all the time. I could probably siphon anything there,"

"Yes but you know more power equals more destruction if you lose control," Kriss said, "Why don't you finish this up while I start on dinner?" Haydee nodded and Kriss walked out of the room.

Finn was already making some steaks in the cast iron skillet and had two other pots going. "Thought I'd use the food we have. We'll have to toss it so we don't come back to any horrid smells." Kriss shook her head yes and went to wrap her arms around his waist. She kissed him on his back and pressed her cheek against it.

"I don't want her to blame herself. Being a Siphoner is hard," Kriss muttered.

"She'll get over it. She'll have too much to think about traveling the United States and arriving to my psychotic family," He stirred the pots and flipped the steaks, "Drink two blood bags tonight. When the moon hits its peak, we'll do the spell."

"Okay. I'm going to finish packing my things," she kissed his back again and stepped away.

"Already done. Just pour yourself a glass of wine and wait for dinner," she nodded and did as she was told.

The next morning, they packed up the car and the three of them stared at the house. Windows were put in during the late night with a little compulsion and a lot of money. The house looked good as new and they were prepared to leave. "I love this house," Kriss said with her arm around Finn. He had one around her and another around Haydee's shoulders.

"Me too but it's just a house and it is still here. We can come back in time. WE have all the time in the world. Let's go," Finn told them. He kissed Haydee on the forehead and pecked Kriss on the lips before opening the car door for them. Haydee would have to be squished into the backseat with a stack of suitcases.
