Maya POV
We took the subway to school like we usually do but today Riley seemed to stand a little straighter and hold her chin a little higher.
When we arrived at school Mr.Matthews had to talk to Riley so I was left alone. Then Lucas came up to me.
"Hey cowboy," I said with a devilish smile.
"Howdy partner," he said with a smile. He never fails to play along with our little game. "Can I ask you something?"
"Yeah sure, what is it?" I asked.
"I wanted to plan a surprise birthday party for Riley next week, and I was wondering if you could help me," He said with a smile.
"Yeah sure why not cowboy," I said.
"Okay come over to my apartment after school so we can start," he said as Riley walked up to us.
"Whatcha guys talking about?" She said with a curious look.
"Nothing princess," Lucas said with a look of adoration. The the bell rang which signaled that we had to go to class.
"Did you here that! HE CALLED ME PRINCESS!" Riley whispered to me with that crazy look in her eyes.
"Yeah I heard it now come one we gotta get to class before your dad yells at us"
