Crap.

It was the first thought that came over Chris as he realized what had happened.

With a heavy sigh, he ran his hands through his hair as he thought about the situation he was in.

The plan, the original plan, was a silly bet you and him had made. As cliche as it sounded, and as dumb as it was, both of you had decided to play with the strings of chances; with fate.

At first, it was nothing deep. It was simple. Chris, the flirty bad boy, trying to get you, a person notorious for being his nemesis, to fall in love with him. You, on the other hand, had to resist his charms -thing you thought was easy- and make him fall in love with you.

And as you do in order to win this kind of bets, you guys had to try and spend time with each other. He went with you to your food trips at whatever time of the day, and you went with him on his crazy midnight adventures. He got to know you, your likes your dislikes, and you got to know his. He got close to you and your friends, and you got close to him and his friends. He got to know the true you, and in return, you got to know the true him.

And before he knew it, he was used to seeing your beautiful smile every day. He had grown accustomed to your presence beside him, he looked forward to it. Without intention, without even realizing it, he had fallen for you. In the span of a couple of months, his life had changed completely. From being just annoyingly flirtatious to being annoyingly flirtatious and in love.

Your guys' relationship had changed, it was better. Of course, all the teasing and the snarky and sarcastic remarks remained. Along with the playful competitions between the two of you, and the flirty actions and comments. But now, now there was true friendship. There was love.

Chris was known for being confident. He was the epitome of it. He was bold when flirting with you, he had always been, but now that the circumstances had changed, he didn't know if he could tell you about the change that had taken place in his heart. He didn't know if you had done the same as him, he didn't know if you had also fallen into the hands of love.

Chris had "shot" you with his love, and if his worst fear became reality, the bullet of love ricocheted off of your heart and hit him instead.

He didn't want it to ricochet. He wanted the bullet to hit you. He wanted you to love him the way he loved you. Chris wanted to love you for all of eternity. He wanted to be the person that made you happy, the one that made your gloomy days brighter, the one that you went to when you were sad, when you were happy.

The plan had changed and against his will, his heart had re-wrote it. Now, the plan was to confess his feelings. As nerve-racking as it was for Chris, he had to do it. He wanted, and needed, to know how you felt towards him.

Chris knew one of two things would happen. His love for you could mess everything up, the close friendship that had blossomed, or you could reciprocate his feelings. As much as he wished for the latter, he knew the first could happen. But he knew he needed to take risks. That's what life was about anyway. "You only live once," they say; that had been his mantra his whole life. It was the saying he had in mind when learning how to skateboard, when he went on his adventures with his friends, the same saying he had told you when he taught you how to ride a motorcycle, and when you accompanied him to his friendly car races. So, why not have it in mind when he thought about his infatuation for you?

He stood up from his dark grey love seat, put on his black leather jacket, got his keys, got in his car and headed towards the love of his life, you.

Yes, there was a risk of ricochet, but he knew he had to tell you. Tell you how much you meant to him.

The bad boy had fallen in love. The bad boy had lost the bet. But the bad boy, Chris, he didn't regret it one bit. It was you he had fallen for after all. So why would he regret it?
