Stares.

Eyes following.

These looks were a common occurrence for Felix as you may know. But today the stares held nocuous intent. As though the already hurtful glances Felix knew weren't enough, they had to add more. He tries getting past them and to his locker. Felix planned to get though this day without trouble. He finally managed to get here on time, so that's one positive thing, or so he thought.

"Oh god, I guess he finally snapped." A girl whispers by Felix's locker.

"I know, right? He's a total psycho." Her friend replies.

"Imagine wanting attention so badly, you actually jump on stage in the middle of a concert." The two giggle.

"Oh my god! I can't believe you said that!" The friend laughs out loud.

"Seriously though, he just wants everyone to love him."

Felix has his head concealed in his locker, pretending to look for his books when in reality, he just doesn't want to show his face. It's not like he was hiding from them, because he was sure they knew he was there and that's why their whispers were louder than whispers should be.

"But you know why he does this, right?"

"Why he wants everyone to love him? What're you talking about?"

Felix peaks towards them quickly and saw that one of the girls was peaking at him as well.

"It's 'cause his mom and dad never did."

Felix slams his locker door unintentionally. The two girls jump in surprise, everyone in the hall looks their way; forgetting whatever they were doing before. More interested in seeing how Felix just stood still at his locker, they waited to see how he might lash out at the girls, or maybe he'd start crying.

No. He does nothing. He merely put his books in his bag and walks away, down the hall.

"Dude needs to chill out."

"God, what a fucking freak."

"Why doesn't he just leave already?"

"Attention seeker."

The comments weren't helping Felix in his goal of having an okay day. Even if it was all redundant at this point, Felix kept going and repeated comforting words to himself.

Everything's going to be okay, everything's going to be okay, everything's going to be okay.

——

Everything was not okay.

How could it be when Felix was currently sitting behind the school at his usual spot, waiting for Oliver; someone he overly joyed to see right now. But it was for his mothers sake, and that overthrew his feelings.

"Felix, there you are." Oliver came from around the corner. Felix had asked him to meet at the usual spot during art class.

"Hey..." Felix says awkwardly.

"Sorry, I was in the office all morning. I had to go talk to my teachers afterwards. Apparently all my classes were changed around except for art class that I have with you already."

"R-Really...?"

Does he not know about this whole agreement. Well, its not really an agreement, I'm just supposed to be around him all day...

"Yeah! Anyways, they told me to just go home for the day. I have to get my mom to sign some things. I also had to stop by my friends locker before lunch, sorry." Oliver sits down at the worn out picnic table beside Felix.

"It's fine."

Why the hell does your dad not think you have any friends?

"So, are you doing anything this weekend-"

"Not at all! Why? You wanna hang out?" Oliver cuts Felix off. He seemed quite happy to hear Felix's offer.

"Uh, yeah. Just wanted to show you around town. I wasn't sure if you were familiar with it yet."

Am I supposed to tell him that his dad told me to?

"Really? That would be great!" Oliver smiles.

Maybe not. Might make this more awkward than it already is.

"Cool. Do you want to meet up this weekend?" Felix suggests. It was only Wednesday, so at least he'd have a few days before becoming a Sydney tour guide.

"Yeah, sure. Anytime works for me."

"Alright, how 'bout Saturday? Maybe 3 o'clock?" Felix was trying to evade the idea of having to eat lunch with Oliver. Just maybe this time will bock out that possibility.

"Mmm, what about 2? Does that work for you? That way we can grab a bite to eat." Unfortunately for Felix, Oliver had already planned everything in his mind as soon as Felix suggested the meet up.

"I-I guess that works for me... Sure.."

God dammit...

"Perfect." Oliver grins.

"I heard about a nice café downtown. Apparently they have really good coffee. We could go there." The grinning boy suggests.

"Sounds fine by me. Do you want to meet me there?"

"I could pick you up. That way you don't have to walk or take the bus." Oliver offers.

"Okay then. Here," He rummages through his bag for a pen and paper.

"I'll write down my address-"

"No need. I already know it." Felix stops, he's confused. How does Oliver know the address?

"Remember? I dropped you off that one time after you lost your bike?"

"Oh right... sorry, I forgot." He feels a bit of relief after hearing that. He forgot about his stolen bike.

It sounded like Oliver was a stalker or something for a second...

" s'all good. Don't worry 'bout it."

"Right... my bike. Crap, that was like my main mode of transportation." Felix is lost in thought.

"You shouldn't think too hard about it. If you ever need a ride, just hit me up." Oliver places his hand on Felix's shoulder.

"Thanks. I don't want to use you as a chauffeur or anything though." He looks down at the picnic table.

"Nah, it's fine. It'd be my pleasure." Felix turns his head to look at Oliver to see that he was already doing the same.

"A-Alright then." Felix averts his eyes and looks straight ahead.

"Um, I have to go, um, talk to my first period teacher. Sorry. I totally just remembered." Felix was feeling uncomfortable and awkward now, he definitely didn't want to spend the rest of the break like this.

"Sure, sure. Go ahead. I'll see you tomorrow." Oliver takes his hand away from Felix.

"Okay. See ya, then." Felix shoves his lunch in his backpack and left. Oliver sat at the picnic table watching Felix as he rushed off into the school.

"This is going to be fun."
