Felix rises from his bed and lazily walks downstairs into the kitchen where he hears his mom.

"Hi hon. How was your day?" His mom asks monotonously as he walks in, not turning around from what she was doing at the kitchen table. She doesn't sound nearly as energetic as usual.

"Good." Felix says quickly.

"Mmhm." His mother was sitting at the kitchen table with many different papers splayed out and her computer open to some sort of document on the screen. She had her glasses on, she only ever wore them in serious times.

Felix's mom worked for a large manufacturing company in Australia. You could say that large is an understatement, it was very powerful. Dominating companies in Australia and international ones as well. Felix wasn't 100% sure what they did except manufacturing, but there had to be something else for them to be this big.

What he did know was that his mom worked as one of their chief financial officers. Meaning she oversees most of their financial planning and risks. By the look of it, there were problems at the company. Felix hasn't seen his mom like this in a long time.

"Whats going on at work, mom?" Felix asks cautiously. He didn't want to trouble his mom with questions when she was smothered with paperwork.

"Ugh, just troublesome things." His mom takes her glasses and rubs her eyes.

"Like...?" Felix prods into the problem further.

"Well apparently there was a miscalculation in the funds we had for expansion. The shareholders are having none of it. So now, the company president wants all our heads. He threatened to have me fired, blaming me for the most part. Now, I have mountains of work." His mother lets out a loud sigh and sets her head down on the table.

Felix lightly stokes his mom's hair in a soothing manner . He feels his chest tighten seeing his mother in such a frustrated state. As her son, he thought that he should help as best he could, but this was out of his hands. He couldn't interfere with anything of this grandeur.

"Don't worry mom. If someone could get though a problem best, it'd be you for sure." Felix says assuringly.

"Thanks hon. You're such a sweet kid." His mom lifts her head and pinches his cheek playfully.

"If only the president wasn't such a dick. Pardon my language." Felix chuckles as his mom.

"He apparently relocated closer to the company building a week or so ago. It just so happens that the same time he got here, problems arise. I swear, he's just the embodiment of a bad luck charm. I'm having a really hard time lately." The woman says furiously.

You and me both.

Felix's mom immediately starts working again, not wanting to waste anytime. Even if that time is for her son. But he couldn't blame her though. This was her job, and an important one at that.

Felix doesn't say anything and just starts making dinner for his mom. He decides not to talk and let his mother be. Bringing up the ticket or any problem for that matter seemed insignificant if his mom was busy. Felix thought his problems weren't worth his mom's time.
