-Chapter 20-
It had been a few hours since the girls and I arrived, and the party was in full swing. I was currently standing behind the small stage that had been set up at the far end of the room. I was about to go on and preform four of my most known songs. The DJ that had been playing for the last few hours was amazing and I felt a bit guilty about taking his place, but that was before I noticed him sitting at the bar surrounded by hot girls.
"Ladies and gentleman! Can you please put your hands together and welcome a very special guest.... From this very town, it's Miss Cora Russell." The announcer shouted and a loud round of applause spread throughout the hall.
I smiled and walked up onto the stage. I took the microphone off the guy and put it in its holder.
Everyone I went to school with, as well as complete strangers were here tonight. If I had to guess, I would say there was about a hundred-fifty people. It's not the sort of crowd I normally sing to, but I have a feeling this is going to be great.
"Is everyone having a good time?" I asked. More loud screams flooded though the room and I smiled.
"Before I get on with the singing, I wanted to wish an extra big happy birthday to one of my best friends of all time, Michael James!" This time there was clapping instead of screaming that filled the room.
"Right. I'm going to be preforming four songs for you tonight. I hope you know Cologne, Amsterdam, Turning Tables and Skyscraper." I announced, and was once again greeted by screaming.
"So, without further delay, this is Cologne." I shouted, as the music for Blue Jeans started.
"There's a reason you're everywhere, breathe you in like you're in the air, maybe you should call off the day. Give your girl some time to play. In my room, from the ceiling to the floor, my body knows that you've been here before!" I started.
Oh god, I did miss this. I missed the thrill of being on stage. I'm definitely going to do a longer tour, maybe even go to Asia. My fan base has grown there a lot... The only problem about that will be being away from Niall.
"{...} Wearing nothing but your cologne." I finished, my lungs exploding.
Everyone clapped and there came the screaming again.
"Amsterdam." I announced, which was greeted by more screaming. Jeez, how much noise can 150 people make?
"I'm sorry, mother I'm sorry, I let you down. Well, these days I'm fine, no these days I tend to lie. I'll take the West train, just by the side of Amsterdam, just by my left brain, just by the side of the Tin man?"
As I went into the chorus, I thought I caught a glimpse of someone next to the dance floor, frozen to the spot, surrounded by three other people, but I couldn't be sure, as the crowd on the dancefloor kept moving.
"{...} Your time will come if you wait for it, if you wait for it. It's hard, believe me I've tried, but I keep coming up short." I sang.
No, I'm sure I'm not hallucinating, there is someone standing a little to the left of the dance floor, looking like he/she had seen a ghost. That person seemed so familiar, but I couldn't put my finger on it as I was too busy belting out the lyrics.
"{...} Believe me when I say, that I wouldn't have it any other way, {...}" I stopped, with my hands thrown up in the air, my chest heaving up and down. The music stopped, and I bowed. Whilst the hall was clapping, I grabbed a bottle of water and took a long sip. The cold water feeling good in my dry throat.
