“Well hello there handsome” Alyce chuckled as she walked out of the arrival hall.

This was the first time in nearly two weeks that I had properly seen the girl. She had been so busy with work and jet setting about that we had not even spoken; face to face that is.

“Is it possible that you get more beautiful every time I see you?” I laughed kissing her cheek and taking the black suitcase into my hand that she was pulling.

Considering she had just got off a 12 hour flight from LAX, she really did look good. Knowing Alyce she had done a complete makeup touch up, changed her outfit and done her hair all before she landed. That and she was used to traveling in first class these days. She was far from the girl that left Sydney, but I’m glad she has changed.

“Oh stop it you, I look and feel gross! I cannot wait to get home and have a shower!” She replied emphasising on the ‘gross’

Since we had got back from Paris, and the major blowouts with both Luke, Michael and L.P, Alyce had decided on a makeover. Her dark brown hair was now just over shoulder length and went from dark brown to blonde. It really did suit her. She had even contemplated going complete pixie bob in platinum blonde but somehow River persuaded her otherwise.

The truth had finally come out about River and Alyce. Nobody but Ashton and I truly believed her, but she was telling the truth. Alyce never had an affair with him, she really was just helping him through a divorce.

“How was LA?” I asked as we walked down the steps in the carpark.

Alyce was slightly wobbly in her stiletto heels so she held onto my hand extra tight. Once at the chauffeur driven car, I put her suitcase into the boot and helped her into the car. She slid across the leather gently and sat directly next to me.

“It was good. I needed a break. Things were just getting hectic, now I can relax and just enjoy Christmas…which reminds me, do you want to come to Boxing Day lunch at my mums house with me?” She inquired.

The thought of meeting her family was amazing, I had obviously hoped that one day I would meet Monty and Jai. She had gone on about that all the time in Australia and she seemed to really dote on them.

“I’d love to sweetie. Can I just say how much I’ve missed you. Talking everyday on the phone is just not enough” I admitted kissing her forehead.

Our conversion died down after that. As she rested her head on mine for the duration of the journey back to her penthouse I couldn't help but wish this was every day. I really did miss her when she was gone. I hated seeing her with everyone else knowing that I couldn't have her in the way I truly wanted.

In typical English weather the rain was lashing down. It had been more or less raining non-stop since she left seven days ago. In the time she had been away the lads and I had been rehearsing and writing like mad. Michael and Ashton had written a killer song with a guy called Jake Sinclair called She Looks So Perfect and we were damn sure going to release that as our first single. Ashton joked that it was written about Alyce, but Michael said the inspiration came from this intern doctor he had met when Alyce thought she was pregnant a few months back.

I’m pretty sure that Alyce had fallen asleep on my shoulder. But she totally denied this, telling me she was only resting her eyes. Never the less, I did not mind one bit.

Once back at her penthouse, I grabbed the suitcase from the boot and we both got into the private elevator up to her door. Walking inside, it was empty. It was back to what Alyce called ‘its pre world war three’ look. The boys and I had found our own place a few blocks away. Capitol Records were paying for it. It was no where near as nice as Alyce’s place but it was home. We had also extended our visa’s. In fact it was River who did them for us. The waiting line was like four hours at the Embassy until he noticed Ashton.
