I chased after Luke. He had no idea where he was running, but he was running fast. I have never seen the lad so distressed in my entire life. When Calum told him he looked like someone had dropped a bomb on his house.
“Slow down Luke” I called doing my best to catch up with him.
He was a good seven seconds ahead of me, and with his lanky legs that was quite a lot. For every step I took, he took nearly double. I watched as his pace slowed and he gradually came to a stop. I looked around and I didn’t recognise anything. I didn’t even know if we were still in Holland Park.
We found a cafe which was open till midnight on the next street and ordered two teas. Sitting in the corner of the room, we collapsed onto the sofas. His face was expressionless and I had no idea what to say.
Nothing I could say was going to make this better. I don't even know what could make this better. I could see the way Alyce was looking at Luke, she doesn't like Calum half as much as she likes Luke and if she thinks she does, she is lying to herself. Something very unappealing had come over Calum recently, and I would die inside if he brought out that in Alyce.
Luke sipped on his tea and we started to broach the subject. I didn’t want to say her name just incase it broke him even more. So I thought talking about L.P might break into the subject of relationships.
“So L.P went on a date with that Iwan from Game of Thrones” I started drinking some of my tea.
He barely looked up and the only sound escaping his lips were the subtle ‘mhmms’. Seeing him like this broke my heart, and I didnt even love him. I felt incredibly bad for him. The thought of what was happening at Alyce’s penthouse right now was on my mind. Was Ashton cozying up to her or was Calum asserting his dominance. I felt for the girl, but seriously she was crazy to notice that Luke was the one for her. Sure, Ashton and her had fuck loads of history, but why on earth would she go back there after everything. However, I knew she would eventually possibly do something with him. That was inevitable.
“You and L.P are made for each other so you’ll work it out” Luke mumbled not making any eye contact with me.
I wanted to scream that him and Alyce were sole mates, but this was not the time nor place. I did however want to talk to him about that, he needed to know what went down on the place. Luke had a right to know that he wasn't alone in the race for her heart, in fact right now he had an advantage.
He continued to drink his tea, not saying another word for at least ten minutes. L.P had sent a very angry text directed at me, but also said that Alyce was apparently beside herself with worry but that Ashton and Calum were arguing over who was sharing her room.
“I know you don’t want to, but we need to talk about what happened back at the penthouse” I said, easing into the subject as best I could.
Luke scowled at the mention but lifted his head up. Reluctantly he agreed to talk about it, but only if we could stay at a hotel or some place else tonight. I wanted to go home to L.P but at this moment in time, Luke was a priority.
I started talking to him about how it was my idea that Ashton came to England, telling Luke that was horrible but he accepted it. Somehow I don't think Ashton was his problem. And I swore that I heard Ash stick up for Luke.
“Why does Calum want her though? Doesn’t he know how much I love her?” Luke spoke doing his best to keep himself together.
I knew that this was incredibly tough for the lad but he needed to talk about. I watched him as his emotions became more apparent. Luke had really worn his heart on his sleeve, but it didn’t deter from the strong feeling that he had for Alyce. I genuinely think she is his soul mate, but then again Ashton thinks that she is his and now apparently so does Calum.
