Sorrowful Days Ahead

3rd POV

  Eri manages to get Overhaul to release her as she clutches the new cloak in her hands and finds the courage as the many around her did...and she jumps. Hoping someone would catch her...those kind arms she felt...

  And he did. Deku catches the girl and holds her tightly vowing to never let her go as they fall back to the ground. Overhaul sending more spikes at them at the loss of his prize. But none reach them as (Y/n) casts a shield of protection and breaks every single spike coming towards them and Deku reaching a full 100% breaking the area around them as both fly into the daylight of the sky. 

  "He's no where near finished! Guard up!" (Y/n) exclaims to them. They crash from the sky landing and spilting nearby roads in two as they fall and see the monstrosity that Overhaul as become. 

  "She has no control. She doesn't know how to stop it. Isn't that right, Eri?" Overhaul speaks. As both dodge out of Overhaul's way seeing him be fused with the bigger minion from before. 

  "She rewinds humans. That's who Eri is. You felt it and continue to feel it as you hold her. Keep carrying her like that, and you'll be annihilated. That girl....is cursed. So unless you wish to be annihilated, hand her over!" He states. 

  That's why he wanted her. That's why he used her. That's why Lemillion's quirk is gone is from experimenting with her quirk and putting it into drug form. 

  "Never." Deku states tightening the town cape around him to secure Eri to his back. (Y/n) stands by his side with a hand on Eri's head as she feels the girl's quirk rewind the injuries she once had now gone as she takes her hand back. Her power growing with new found stamina. 

  "You healed me. Your quirk is a blessing." (Y/n) says strongly. 

  "100% Full Cowling!" Deku mutters as his body begins to output One for All at full power going beyond plus ultra. Not sustaining any injuries from the backlash as Eri's quirk works quickly rewind such. Overhaul lurches forward with his massive new form to grab at Eri and to kill his obstacles, but they're too quick for his new form. Deku dashes around his form and (Y/n) takes to the sky, using her staff to carve out ancient symbols and begins a ritual of such that takes her full concentration. 

Overhaul continues to lurches around destroying all the town around them in the battle. Deku landing big blows to Overhaul while even flinging towards the air.  But he breaks apart and puts himself back together, Overhaul does. Deku continues to break and smash him as Eri's power rewinds all of his injuries. And as Deku strikes his final blow, (Y/n) continues her ritual and taps the staff 3 times upon the ritual circle full of those strange unknown symbols. Massive amount of energy of darkness and light swirl and pass by Deku and Eri, not touching or even coming close to them even it forms back together as it blasts Overhaul after Deku lands his final smash. The blast disassembling the disassembler and finally ends this battle. 

  As she comes down from the sky she can feel her power fading now.

  I must go...remember our deal. I'll be back...for your trial...

She feels it fading quickly, but she sees Deku kneeling and in pain as Eri cries out not being able to stop herself and Deku in too much shock to try and calm her. She dashes as quickly as her weak legs now will take her, falling and stumbling along the way. 

  "Eri! Stop! You're safe!" She exclaims coming closer and feels Eri's power emerges from her. She pushes through even then trying to grab hold and does so cradling Eri in her arms as she grabs her off of Midoriya and into her lap as she falls to her knees at the sudden on-take of power. Screaming out in sudden agony as she outputs her own power to counteract the rewind of Eri. 

  "You're safe Eri! We protected you!" She says once again and suddenly it all stops as Eri falls into her chest unconscious. Relieving (Y/n) of her output. She breathes heavily as another hand comes and holds Eri's to see Midoriya coming closer.

  And with that...the battle was won and the girl saved. 

  But some also would not come out completely lucky as they were. 

Your POV

  We arrived at the hospital as Deku and I were checked for injuries. None of us had any at all most likely thanks to Eri's quirk. Soon Aizawa entered and started telling us everything else about the others' conditions. Except for Nighteye's...

  "Aizawa...what about Nighteye?" He said nothing but look down avoiding all eye contact. I pushed by him running around the halls till someone old me where his room was. I could hear Deku and Aizawa behind me trying to get me to slow down and stop, but I couldn't. He had to be ok. He had too! 

  Finally approaching the room with All Might by his side. Tubes running in and out of his stomach as his speech was little. 

  "Nighteye..." I muttered as I slowly approached with Midoriya right behind me as I went to the other side of his bed. I gripped his hand tightly as he tried to do the same but very little. I could already feel tears stream down from my eyes. Theres no holding them back. 

   "Nighteye! Live! Do your best!" Midoriya states.

  "You're being... very respectful.... I don't resent you at all." Nighteye says very weakly. Even his voice shows the verge of death. 

  "Because all I wanted was for you to be happy..If you've decided to fight then--" Nighteye breathed out.

  "You should fight, too! Please let me atone for all I've done until now..." All Might cuts him off.

  "Yeah...I still need my rematch..." I say through my tears with a force laugh.

  "There's nothing to atone for...and the rematch......will be with Mr. Midoriya..." Nighteye says trying to squeeze my hand. 

  "I wanted to change the future where you were killed, so I kept looking for ways to change it...But it was to no avail...Until today..." His hand squeezed tighter around mine as I could feel my heart breaking into pieces...

  "Midoriya...(Y/n)...they showed me...something with energy I believe...Vision so strong there would be no room for doubt. Energy that wished a future...And it could have been not just them....but everyone else that day as well...Belief so strong that it was brought together...That belief converging on the two...then being released...Future is an uncertainty...My thinking changed...and that's enough for me...." He spoke so strongly even in this...did we really do this...

  As I look up to see Deku and All Might I see Mirio barging by the nurse and coming in not letting anyone stop him. 

  "My only regret is..." Nighteye whispers out.

  "Sir!" Mirio finally comes in walking or limping over to his beside.

  "Please, live! You can't die!" He exclaims out. 

  "You suffered so much because of me...if only...I had been..." Nighteye tries to say.

  "It was because you taught me that I was able to become strong! It was because you taught me that I'm living like this now! Please teach me more!" Tears like mine begin to run down Mirio's face as I come over and pass Deku to hug him from under one of his arms while also trying not to hurt him. I can feel his body trembling but it's helping me steady mine. 

  "Forgive me. At first, I lured you in to be a vessel for One for All. But you followed me and believed in me, and before I knew it, you became one of my prides...Miro, you'll be..fine.." As Nighteye reaches up with the hand I let go and cups Mirio's face. But his land also touches my hand as well as I see him use his quirk. 

  "You too...(Y/n)...both will become finer heroes than anyone else...the only future that shouldn't be changed..So smile...Smile...A society without cheer and humor...will not have...a bright future..."

Beep...beep...beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.....as the heart monitor flat lines. My own heart feels like it stopped. I feel Mirio tighten his grip around me as we embrace in a strong sorrowful hug, but I feel myself drop to the floor as all my sorrow comes as like the Niagara falls...my breaths shallow and heavy while snot and tears mix on myself and onto Mirio's hospital gown. 

  He's gone....he's gone...with a smile on his face.
