Shoto's POV
"Is he home?" I ask my sister. My rage was unspeakable and unyielding such as the Spartan.
"Yes, but why. You've never wanted to speak with him?" My sister states.
I marched over to his office where I know he would be. I slam the door open and see him looking through work files as he looks up abruptly at me.
"Shoto, there so need to slam-"
"You were going to arrange a marriage for me?! Without my consent!"
"I was looking out for you-"
"No, you were looking out for yourself and the family name! Making sure the 'legacy' lived on!"
"It was for you, son! All that I've done is for you and your siblings!"
"Then why did it push mom away? Why did she end up so afraid of her own son to scar him because of his fire! All that you have done has been for you and your reputation. So don't you ever think that you'll be able to anymore!" I can't look at him anymore as I storm out. I haven't let out that much emotion for a long time and it felt nice. After his and (Y/n)'s battle, she didn't wake up until the next day. I stayed with her until she was able to walk without falling because of how unbalanced she was waking up. We were given a few days also to recuperate and have relaxing days before the week-long training at camp began. It's now that I'm home packing to stay anywhere but here for a few days until the time to go for the camp.
"Shoto, where are you going?" My sister stops me from going out of the door. I just look her in the eyes and she lets me pass as I exit the house.
I need some soba.
Your POV
I'm on my way home after talking with my grandmother about my first ancient warrior. A spartan just like my mom. Grandmother said her two was a valkyrie and a samurai. My mother had the spartan and a regal knight. It's so exciting that I was able to unlock one so early. She said I needed rest, so, until the camp, I'm going to do all the things I love. First probably going to that cafe Shoto and I found. I walk in with Max and Mochi by my side and look around to find somewhere to sit. And I find the perfect space.
"Is this spot taken?" I ask the bi-colored hair boy I've grown close to.
"(Y/n)? What are you doing here?" He asks as I take a seat across from him. As I do someone comes over with food bowls for Mochi and Max. I thank them as they take my order as well.
"I'm resting to answer your question. And what brings you here besides the great cold soba?" I tease.
"Clearing my head." He seems tense. Just on his body language alone, I could see. I didn't have to look into his eyes to see it. Not only that but Max was also sniffing along with his bag that seems full and ready to go anywhere.
"What's with the bag?"
"Early-packing for the camp. Thought I'd take it over to the school and put it in my locker so I don't worry about it later." He states as if he believes the lie he just said to be true.
"Shoto, if I didn't know you so well and didn't know how to detect a lie, I might have believed you. Why do you have that bag really?"
He stays silent and stares at his cold soba until he finally looks up at me.
"I'm trying to find a place to stay until after the camp. I can't stay at my own home with that bas**** still there."
"And where would that be?"
"I can get a hotel somewhere close to my mother so I can still see her. I have a card I can use to get food and essentials."
"I think you'd be safer at my place."
