Chapter 9 - Close Proximity |Part Two|

"...Aphmau? Babe, please wake up."

"We need you Aph."

"Kawaii~Chan needs her ship! She won't let it sink!"

"Wake up."

"Let me know when she wakes, I'm going to get food, want something Aaron?"

"I'm gonna stay here, just in case."

"Aphmau, I don't know if you can hear me but, I'll always be with you, no matter what happens."

Aphmau lets out a soft groan as she slowly opens her eyes. "A..Aaron?" she whispers.

Her voice is barely audible and her body is shaking like tremors.

"Aph! You're okay!" Aaron says, out of relief.

She gives him a small smile. "Yeah." she says. "Is he okay?" she asks, seriously.

"Ah, Aphmau, you're awake." Holly says, as she walks into the room. "Let me guess, you want to know if he's okay?" she adds, as Aphmau nods.

"To answer that question; he's fine. The dagger surprisingly didn't hit him but landed near him. Though, I fear that when he's born, he'll have to be bonded to it." Holly explains.

"It?" Aphmau questions. "What's it?" she gives Holly a confused expression.

"It—the Ultima." Holly sighs. "Once someone is bonded to the Ultima: the Ultima will do whatever is necessary to protect his bonded. Some even say, he goes as far as to actually control them, letting the inner devil out to play."she explains, again.

Aphmau barely gets another word out before she gasps loudly. She can feel something dripping down her legs as she takes a shaky breath. "Aaron..." she trails off.

Holly does one take before calling for Dottie and Tori, Holly's oldest daughter to come in and help.

"Shh, just calm down, Aphmau." she reassures Aphmau before looking at Aaron. "Your son is coming whether either of you are ready." she tells him.

He grabs hold of Aphmau's hand as she looks at him with a soft smile.

The next five hours are long and tiring for Aphmau and Aaron. Aaron has taken notice that Aphmau had fallen asleep as Holly steps back into the room, with her daughter behind her holding a blue bundle in her arms.

"He is bonded." Holly says.

"You can hold him, he's yours. Just keep this in mind: since he was born early, he'll need to stay here just until you can take him home." Tori says, as she gives the newborn boy to his father.

"What's going on?" a voice slurs awake.

Aaron turns with his newborn son in his arms. "Oh, can I?" she asks as Aaron hands him over to Aphmau's waiting arms.

She smiles down at him. "He's perfect." she whispers.

"Now that you're awake Aphmau, I need you and Aaron to fill this out." Holly says as she hands Aaron a piece of paper.

"Okay." Aphmau says.

She hands her son over to Holly for the time being while she and Aaron fill out his birth certificate.

"Who should be his godparents?" she asks.

"We never even discussed that, Aph." Aaron replies.

Melissa barges in, panting heavily, as her golden eyes caught sight of her newborn nephew in Holly's arms.

"Awww!" she coos. "He's so adorable!" she shouts.

Aphmau and Aaron share a look with one another as well as a smirk.

"Melissa? How would you like to be his godmother?" Aaron asks his sister.

"Me? I'd be honored to, Aaron!" she responds.

Aphmau writes down Melissa's name on one of the lines for godparents. "Godfather?" she asks, as she looks up from the paper.

"You choose, Aph." Aaron tells her.

Aphmau thinks for a second. "How about Zane?" she blurts out.

"Zane, are you serious?!" Melissa shouts. "He's like, really really emo!" she notes.

"He's my best friend, Aaron. Plus, he knows your an Ultima so, when our son gets older, Zane can help keep it a secret." Aph explains. "Since we both know he's got the curse."she adds, softly.

"Okay." Aaron agrees.

She smiles giddily as she writes Zane's name on the other line under godparents. Aaron watches over her shoulder as she fills out the other blanks.

It gets to the point where she only has one more line to fill out and that's his name. They already agreed on a first name and his last name since they aren't married yet. But his middle name remains a question.

"Blade...I can't think of a good middle name." Aphmau admits.

"Well, what's his full name?" Melissa asks. "Maybe, I can help." she adds.

She sits on the end of the bed and looks at Aphmau and Aaron.

"Blade Lycan." Aaron answers.

"Hmm."Melissa hums. "He seems like he's got an infinite life ahead of him." she casually remarks.

Aphmau stares at her in shock. "Melissa! That's it!" she yells.

"What's it?" Melissa asks, confused.

"Blade Infinity Lycan." Aphmau states, proudly.

"You know, I like that name. It has a nice ring to it." Aaron says.

Aphmau writes down the name on the first line and hands the paper back to Holly, who in turn gave back their son.

"Our Bladed miracle." she smiles.

One year later.

The group has been in hiding for a whole year and a lot has happened over said year. Melissa had her son, Maxwell or Max as she calls him while Kawaii~Chan and Zane had announced that they were getting engaged but the reason behind that is unknown.

Though, for Aphmau and Aaron, they have ideas as to the reason why Zane popped the question. But, they are currently taking care of their one year old son, Blade.

"One year, in this hellhole and we still have yet to go home!" Melissa complains.

In her arms is her eleven month old son with Lucinda standing beside her. The two have recently started dating after unexpectedly confessing their feelings for one another.

"Mel's right. Now that we have two more werewolves in this group, I think we may never get to go home." Lucinda states.

Aaron sighs. "Because of the island being on lockdown until the Ultima threat is contained, we can't leave. Even if we tried." he says.
