Derek keeps his charcoal eyes glued to the road in front of him and ignores the struggling he hears behind him. He knows, for a fact, that Blade is struggling to free himself but he tunes the noises out as he pulls out his phone; multitasking. He taps Victoria's number on the handheld device and waits for her to answer.
'This is Victoria Hunter, how can I be of service to you at this late hour?' her groggy voice says.
"Victoria, I have him." Derek says.
He hears loud shuffling from the other side before the shuffling stops. 'YOU HAVE HIM?! YOU HAVE YOUR GRANDSON?!' Victoria shouts.
"Yes, I do." Derek replies. "Can we meet?" he adds.
'Of course we can. Take him to the house. I'll meet you there in an hour." Victoria tells him and hangs up on the phone.
Derek stuffs his phone back into its happy home; which was his jean pocket and continues to drive along the road.
(One hour later — midnight)
After an hour of continuous driving, Derek makes it to the house. He pulls the car into the driveway and parks it before getting out of the car. He walks up to the house and waits patiently for Victoria to open it. Once she does, he takes a step inside and closes the door behind him.
It takes Derek a second to realize something. He left a werewolf in the backseat of his car. Mistake number one.
He also realized he kidnapped his grandson which could only mean that soon Aaron will come looking for his son. Mistake number two.
"I've screwed up." Derek admits. "My son will come looking for Blade." he mumbles.
"Then let's find this Blade person before your son does." Victoria announces.
(Phoenix Drop - midnight)
A phone that sits on the bedside table of Alina's bed suddenly goes off with its funky notification sound; a barking chicken. She jolts awake, startled by the noise her phone is making and turns to the right side to pick it up.
Unknown - Grandpa kidnapped me and I don't know what he's planing.
She frowns then realizes who sent it. Blade.
"MOM! DAD!" she shouts and flies out of her room waving her phone frantically in the air.
She slams her parents' bedroom door open and shoves her phone into her dad's face. Aaron takes her phone away from his face and reads it silently.
"What's going on?" Aphmau mumbles groggily. She just wants to sleep without disturbances.
"Grandpa kidnapped me and I don't know what he's planing." Aaron reads aloud.
On Alina's phone is three dots; indicating another message.
Unknown - He's in cahoots with some lady named Victoria. He keeps talking to her...not to mention he left me alone in the car.
Again, Aaron reads the message aloud and this time; Aphmau sits up wide awake.
"Is there a location?" she asks.
Aaron shakes his head. "No." he tells her.
"Actually, Dad, there is." Alina speaks up. "When you text something from a phone, it's hooked up to an cell tower right? So, if Blade is communicating like that, it's got to be traceable." she explains, rather quickly.
She snatches her phone back and taps ferociously until she gets a location.
Location : Hatred Drive in Falcon Claw, Maine
"Nice work, sweetheart. Now, let's get your brother back." Aphmau says.
(Six hours later—nearing sunrise or 6:00 in the morning)
"Six hours! We've been looking for the past six hours and we still haven't found him!" Victoria whines.
"Him? Who are you looking for?" she and Derek turn around and freeze in their spots.
Standing there, beside her husband, was Derek's daughter-in-law...and his grandson's mother.
"Aphmau! Good to see you here!" Derek shouts and gets right into her face. "What are you doing here?" he asks.
"Aaron and I have been trying to reach you all day. Blade got kidnapped against his will and we're just trying to locate his kidnapper." Aphmau says.
A brute force slams into Derek as the same charcoal eyes glare at his.
"Aaron, can you get off?" Derek mutters.
Aaron shakes his head. "Not until you tell Aph and I where our son might be." he smirks.
"I don't know!" Derek lies; he knows where he left the kid but he doesn't know if Blade's still there.
A sudden knife is thrown at Derek's direction, landing just mere inches away from his head. The group turn around and gape at the person who threw it. His arm, that is outstretched, falls back into its position by his side as he growls just low enough to frighten people.
"H...how! I was going to train you! That's why I kidnapped you!" Derek shouts, by mistake.
Aphmau and Aaron both whip their heads around as Aaron storms up to Derek.
"Why would you do that?" he whispers.
"Did I say that?" Derek tries to reason with the angry parents, but it fails horrendously on him.
"For the record, I don't need training." Blade smirks, proudly.
He unsheathes not one but two swords from their home on his back and places them in front of him. "I already was trained." he finishes and throws one of his swords at Victoria.
The sword, thrown with insane precision, lands in Victoria's heart; killing her instantly.
"If you want to end up like her, Dad, then I suggest you comply with the police." Aaron says, smugly.
Sure enough, several police officers surrounded the five and two of them have already taken away Victoria's body for investigation of her sudden death. More officers surround Derek as he has no choice but to comply for fear of Blade killing him with no hesitation. He will never admit it but his well-thought our plan backfired completely.
"You know, it serves him right." Aphmau huffs. "He deserves this." she adds as her son nods in agreement.
"Dad, what's he getting charged with?" Blade asks; out of curiosity.
"One charge for kidnapping and another for attempted murder." Aaron says.
"Attempted murder? How did that happen?" Blade asks, again.
His parents look at each other and just lead the way to their car where Alina sits in the backseat; watching everything.
