Collin:
The room is bright, full of people. My family, the guys, and her..She sits next to my bed, a plate of food in her hand. She looks up at me and smiles wide. Taking my hand in hers.
"Wow, what a party?" A girl walks in, normal clothes, long brown hair.
"Hey!" Theo stands up, hugging her tightly.
"Glad you're awake!" Theo pulls away from her. She's older, maybe her 40's? She's short but strong. She stands next to my bed.
"Hi Collin, I'm Rebecca.." She puts out her hand to shake.
"Hi?" I watch her.
"Do you remember anything?" She asks, sitting next to my bed, the room quiet. I look around, trying to read their faces. I shake my head.
"No.." She looks at me.
"I was there the night of your accident. I was the paramedic who got to you first. You were awake, you told me your name. I brought you to the hospital. After I heard you made it through surgery, I came here everyday to see you. Theo, your dad, and brother were here too. We'd all sit with you and talk." She saved my life. This woman saved my life.
They sit around, laughing and smiling. Theo sits on the bed next to me. I pull her closer, laying her next to me.
"Ah." I let out a sigh.
"Oh I'm sorry did I hurt you?" She leans up, I pull her back in, wrapping my arms around her.
"No, I want you right here, next to me." She leans her head on mine.
"I love you." I whisper in her ear, she smiles, playing with my hand, tracing my fingers, my palm, up my arm.
"Collin, I love you so much."
"Alright guys, visiting hours are almost over, we can only have two visitors in the room at a time now. I'm sorry to break up the party." A nurse stands in the doorway. Everyone grabs their things, shuffling out.
"Hey Col, Aidan and I are going to go home for a bit, get some sleep. You need to rest." My dad says. I nod. Theo moves to get up.
"No..stay." I say, I want her here. She lays back down on my bed. Her head on my shoulder. The nurse gives me some pain medication.
"What's this?" I ask.
"Just some Motrin and Tylenol. Nothing crazy."
"Name and date of birth?" she asks, clicking away on the computer.
"Collin Walsh, December 8th, 1993." She hands me a cup and some water. Closing the door and curtain as she leaves.
"Collin.." Theo plays with my hand again, tracing it up my arm. I watch her, feeling a tingle as she moves her hand around, down my chest, moving my t-shirt out of the way. Her hands trace my bandages over my right side.
"I'm so sorry this happened." She says, her voice breaks. I move her head to face mine, my hand under her chin.
"Don't be. It was a freak accident. There was nothing that could've been done. But I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere." She kisses me softly. The lights are dim in the room, I look around.
"Collin, what are you thinking about?" She asks, tracing my fingers.
"Everything.." I say.
"I saw Tommy, I saw my family, the day I was born, riding a bike and falling, Aidan coming home for the first time..." I trail off.
