I wake up in a cold sweat. The light is so bright in the room. I'm back in my apartment. How did I get home? I don't remember anything besides sitting on the bench by the fountain in Range Park.
"Hey roomie." Shea says joyfully.
"How is it you were completely wasted last night and I'm the one who feels hungover?"
"Just lucky I guess!" she hoots.
"Here" she hands me a hot coffee in my favorite mug. I sip the warm, almond flavored coffee and it's soothes me.
"What happened last night?" I asked.
"Well, when I feel asleep, I heard you leave. You were gone for a few hours but then you came home and went right to bed, I woke up and you still had your shoes on." How did I get home? I don't remember walking home.
"Weird." Shea must've seen my furrowed brow and confused look.
"What?" she asked, confused.
"I don't remember getting home. I went to the fountain and had a panic attack, and I don't remember walking back."
"Must've slept walked!" she jokes, with an unsure smile. I smile back.
"Anyway, what are your plans tonight? Going out again with Derek?" I ask sitting up more in bed, sipping my coffee.
"Kinda! We're going to the Out Look for a concert! You should come! The tickets are pretty cheap! I could get you one right now online!" she whips out her phone and before I can even argue
"DONE! You're coming!" she tosses her phone down and smiles widely. She must've realized my reaction and eye roll...
"Oh come on! All you do is sit in here and write and sing. You need to go out for once. I know you're working on the album but you need more inspiration! You can't just sit here all night on a Saturday! Come have fun with us!!" she pleads. She kneels down in front of my bed, her big puppy dog eyes pleading, she's really begging?
"I guess since you bought me a ticket I don't really have a choice?" I laugh.
"YES!!" She hops up and starts doing a dance in the middle of the room. My brother stays a lot so I have two small beds cramped into my room. Shea has her own room but since Alex moved out, I hate being alone so she stays in the bed next to me.
I hit my keyboard and start playing some music, we dance in the middle of the room in our pj's. Singing at the top of our lungs.
"Let it rain all night. I wish that I could wash away everything you've done. Let it rain on us. I pray that I could pull apart your head and fix you up." We sing.
"You didn't even tell me who was playing tonight?" I laugh.
"Well you're in luck, because we're currently listening to them!" She laughs back. I pause the music.
"You're telling me Grayscale is playing at the Out Look? Why?" I ask, confused.
"What do you mean why? It's a pop-up show! They only announced it two days ago. Way to pay attention."
"Sorry I'm not obsessed with them. Their music is really good but I don't fall all over them." I laugh.
"Sorry, the lead singer is hot as hell." She jokes. I roll my eyes. Shea's always been obsessed with band guys. The last time she came on tour with me, she was obsessed with the guys in the other bands. That is until she met Derek. They've been attached at the hip since.
"So what are we gonna wear tonight?" She asks, opening my closet, shuffling through the hangers. She pulls out a Third Eye Blind crop top.
"Ooh yes I love that shirt!" I grab it and pair it with a flannel and ripped, dark wash jeans. And in regular Theo-fashion, my old black and white vans.
