"Ter?"
Copter's mom eyed the room curiously. Dozens of shirts and pants are dropped haphazardly on Copter's bed.
"Hmm..?" Copter fingered his jewelry box, searching for appropriate accessories for the shiny forest green silk shirt that went amazingly with his sunny blond hair.
"I thought you are going to see a concert?" Mom came into the room and started picking the clothes from the bed.
"I am," Copter didn't pay much attention to mom but pulled several necklaces over his head and admired the effect they had on his clear unblemished skin showing through open top two buttons of the shirt.
"From the way you are dressing up, I thought you are going out on a date?"
With those words, mom managed to get Copter's full attention.
He turned on his heel and shot an incredulously look.
"What?" Unperturbed by the son's kittenish anger, mom continued putting the discarded clothes back in hangers before hanging them in the closet.
"I'm going to a rock concert!" Copter all but stomped his foot. "It's not a date!" He huffed.
"Okay, okay fine." Mom lifted her hands in surrender.
Copter picked his favorite cologne from his collection and dotted the vital areas. As he was taking his phone and the wallet from the dresser, on cue, a motorbike honked.
"That's my ride," Copter hurried his steps.
"Joss is picking you up?" Mom tried to keep up with Copter's pace but stopped when he barreled down the steps.
"No," Copter stopped at the foot of the winding staircase and looked up at his mom standing at the top. He ran his palm up and down the banister debating if he should tell the truth or lie. "It's Kim," He hesitated a moment before answering truthfully. He could never lie to his mom, anyway.
"Your boss is taking you to a concert?" Mom climbed down slowly with a big smile on her face.
"Yes, Kim is my boss and he's also my good friend, I told you before." Copter grumbled.
"Aw... My sweet boy, I'm so happy for you." Mom came closer and patted his cheek. The motorbike honked again.
"I gotta go," He quickly dodged mom's hand. "And wipe that smile off. It's just a concert, not a date." He called over his shoulder.
"If you say so, my boy!"
"Enjoy your night!"
He heard mom's cheerful voice from behind.
"Drive safely." Mom followed him to the door. "Don't drink and drive." She shouted after Copter when he ran down the front steps to get to the iron gate of the townhouse. He just waved at his back without looking.
