Boy Meets Girl, Girl Meets Boy

Chapter 17

- 3 HOURS BEFORE - 

- ETHAN - 

I boarded the flight to Cairns feeling nervous, sad and excited. I was nervous as I didn't know what to expect and whether or not I would cry when I saw her. I was sad as she might not survive or get through this. But I was excited as I just wanted to get there, hold her soft hand and most importantly see her. I wanted to see her big brown eyes and those long eyelashes.

I just... I just wanted to see her so badly.

I sat down in my seat, before starting to also feel a bit scared about flying. I never had this feeling before however I needed to be with Lulu. 

The flight was steady and we landed without any issues. I only had a carry on bag with some clothes so I just walked through the airport and made my way to the bus depot. I had worked out that the 368 would take me to a stop across the road from the hospital. When the bus came and the 10 minute trip to the hospital began, it seemed that the time went by so slowly. 

When I arrived at the emergency unit of the hospital I made my way to the front desk. 

"Hello. I am looking for Lulu Young, I have travelled from Sydney to come and see her." I stated to this mid 20 year old woman with chestnut brown wavy hair. Her eyes were a mixture of turquoise and teal. She looked up at me startled. 

"Oh yes..yes you are lucky, visitors are now allowed to see her. She is in room 102. Just down the hall, to the right. The room number is on a sign screwed onto the door, so you can't miss it." She smiled at me. 

"Thank you so much!" I exclaimed. I made my way down the hall and when I reached room 102 I just stood there looking at the sign. I couldn't move, I was scared to see what, what.. she looked like. It took me 5 minutes to get the courage and bravery to go into the room. 

I opened the door and saw Aaron talking to an unconscious Lulu. Just as the door closed, Aaron turned around and had an expression of shock. 

"Ethan?" He mouthed with his brows frowned with confusion. 

"Yeah..I needed to see her Aaron." I replied inching closer to her bed. 

"I understand...I'll give you some time but I then need to come back as I just got to see her." He explained to me with a smile, before getting up out of the hospital seat, patting me on the shoulder and leaving the room. 

I moved slowly towards the chair next to Lulu's bed and took a seat. I held her hand and the only thing I could think of saying was... 

"I love you." The words left my mouth before I could think. I couldn't think straight, I rushed out of the room and to the bathroom. I needed some time to think. 

- AARON - 

I left the room leaving Ethan to talk to Lulu, I was making my way back to Felicity and my parents room when I saw Mason signing into the visitor form to see Lulu. 

"Hey Mason." I start the conversation. He turns to look at me and smiles when he realises who it is. 

"Hey..I am just going to see Lulu. How is she?" Mason asks me looking down at the floor with sadness. 

"She isn't awake yet but she is slowly responding a bit more each day. We hope for the best but we are still not in the safe zone. Ethan is talking to her..but he seemed a bit sad so he might have left. I don't know. Hopefully you can make her respond a bit more." I explain to him. 

He nods smiles and walks away towards her room. 

I grabbed a packet of crisps from the vending machine and walked back to the reception. I wanted to be close to Lulu's room.
