My heart was beating out of my chest, I ran my fingers through my hair. I had to ask her now, I wanted to ask.
"Do you want to you know be like....my you know...girlfriend?" I asked her with my eyes looking at her as she looked at me with a face of shock, then a face of thinking. What was she thinking?
Her mouth began to open, she was about to answer.
"I..I just need some time to think it over, I need to sleep on it." Lulu replies.
My heart sank, my expression changed I was completely and utterly devastated. I now know it was never going to work it was a fling and thats all it was, even though I had developed feelings in the last couple of weeks. If she was into me she would have said yes in a heart beat. Now I feel stupid for pouring my heart out to her and sharing my feelings. She gives me a hug and whispers in my ear,
"Don't worry, I just need to think."
She pulls away and walks into her house. I stood there completly destroyed and heart broken. I went out on a limb to try and make something between us but it seems she never wanted anything. The thing is that 'I'll think about it' is code for it won't ever happen.
I need to get my mind off this, I am going to call Leon and arrange to go out to the city. Time for a little late night partying.

"Hey, wanna go out to the city tonight some stuff has happened and I need to get my mind off it?" I talk into my iPhone speaker trying to hind the pain that was starting to crack through my voice as I held back the tears. My fustration began to rise and my anger started to build. I thought to myself, how could I be so stupid?
"Yeah, yeah sounds good. You alright?" Leon asked me with a best friend tone. I tried to hide my feelings to advoid being hurt further but obviously he could hear the sad tone in my voice.
"I'm okay. Let's talk about it later, okay?" I replied trying to convince myself everything was fine and she was going to say 'yes' but in reality I knew that was a long shot. I was completely and utterly shattered.
"Of course. Should I call Tom and Jake?" He acknowledged trying to take my mind off whatever I was thinking.
"Yes. Ok I've got to go. Meet out the front of mine in 1 hour, lets take this party to the early hours of the morning?" I advise trying to hold back the tears till this phone call ends.
"Okay, i'll tell the boys. Call me if you need anything as you sound really shaken up man."
"Yeah I will. Thanks, bye" I utter before ending the phone call.
I was just down the road from her house when tears starting rushing down my cheeks. I tried to convince myself that she was going to say yes but I couldn't. By the time I got home I had wet eyelashes, puffy red bags under my eyes and a reasonably heartbroken expression.
"What happened?" Jamie inqustively asked before relaising I had been crying and rushing to give me a hug.
"I..I asked Lulu to be my girlfriend and she asked me if she could think about it. I understand that she could say yes but usually 'i'll think about it' is code for not in a million years. Mum always says it when shes trying to get us to do something and we keep asking for something. The four words give you a slight bit of hope but you always end up being destroyed at the end." I explain wiping away the tears and getting a glass of water.
"I think you need to understand. That yes that is usually code for something but you also need to remember that she just got out of a serious relationship and she may just be rethinking the breakup. It's scary being a girl and having one relationship after another. Just relax and stay calm. Have a quiet night in and you will know the answer in less than 24 hours." Jamie tried to reassure me but I couldn't think of being dumped before even being together, and thats not the worst bit. The worst bit is that I have met a girl I genuinely like and is really funny, beautiful and gets me. I can't let her go, can I? My mind starts to race through different senarios and soon I have a headache and am extremely exhausted from the evenings events. I contemplate not going out since it is already 12 am, but I relaise that I need some relaxation time.
