Quick author's note-
So in the last chapter I asked who's P.O.V should the very last chapter be in, and someone said Alex, another said Fiona, one person even said Fiona's mom... So I'm putting this story in everyone's P.O.V!!Okay on with the story.... Last chapter.
Deep breaths.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Alex's P.O.V.
It's currently 5:32 in the morning, and I'm just laying awake in bed...
No. That's a lie sorry.
I'm crying right now.
I don't want her to leave. I want to see her bright cheery face every day. I want her to stop by the Tavern to just say hi. I want to go on dates with her. I want to kiss her. I want to hug her.
I don't want to say goodbye.
I stood up and looked out the window to the lake.
What time did she say she was leaving again?
Six.....
I glanced at my clock.
5:52.
CRAP!!!!
Fiona's P.O.V
I trudged down to the lake with my mom. We were both in our swimsuits and our hair was down.
We were wearing our pod necklaces, which was long twine with shells and some jewels laced into it.
I clutched the note I was holding to my heart.I held back tears as I took a deep breath.
"Fiona, honey, it's not as bad as you think..." My mom tried to reason.
"Yes it is." I cried back.
My mom put an arm around me.
"This is about Alex... Isn't it?" She suspected.I nodded slightly, wiping away a tear.
"I know leaving him is hard... But you have to leave. For your mermaid needs," she said.
I just nodded.
"Would you rather just take it slow and walk into the lake, rather than jump?" She asked.
I nodded again.
Alex's P.O.V
I sprinted out the door, my hair messy, my pants barely on as I ran through the woods.
I finally got my pants on and I tried to fix my hair, but to no avail with the wind spraying up in my face.
I kept running till I made it to the lakeside. I arrived at the marina and frantically looked around for Fiona.
What if... I didn't have the chance to say goodbye...?
I jogged by each dock, my hope shrinking with each step I made.
What if she was already gone?
It was then when I saw some red hair, and I ran as fast as I could down to the grassy shore.
Fiona's P.O.V
I laid my note on the shore and I inched into the water, looking back with each step. I laid down on the shallow lake bottom, looking at land as I slowly made my way to my mom.
"Fiona, we don't want to be seen," she snapped.
"And I don't want to leave without saying goodbye," I snapped back, tears flowing down my face.
"You left the note..." She began.
"What If he doesn't find it?" I asked, keeping my post as the transformation was complete.
