Saved by the stranger- ch. fifteen

Brett's pov:
We get back into the hospital and Keely led us to the room. Once we got there we saw Lucy sitting up as Natsu was sitting right beside her on a chair. They both looked at us and Lucy smiled. "Hey you guys. Where'd you two- wait.. Nova your ankle!" Lucy pointed out. Nova began to cry so I walked over to Lucy and sat Nova down on the bed with her. I thought I caught a glimpse of Lucy flinching, but at me.

She hates me... I knew it..

Lucy quickly hugs Nova and smiles reassuringly. "It's ok Nova. I'm fine. I only have a few minor bruises and scratches." Nova nods and wipes her tears away. Lucy looked to me and asked if I could go get a doctor or nurse for Nova. I nodded and left the room to go find one. Once I did I stopped a doctor in the hallway. "Sir, my friend's ankle is really messed up. Can you please come look at it." He smiles and nods. "Of course young man." He follows me back to Lucy's room.

He sees Nova's ankle and quickly got to looking at it. He sat up and smiled. "You shouldn't worry too much. It's definitely not broken, it's just sprained. Stay off of it for two to three weeks-" she stopped him there. "What? No- no I can't do that! I have work to do!" Natsu put his hand on Nova's shoulder. "Just do what he tells you. I speak for everyone in this room when I say you deserve the time off. Plus there is no way I'd let you work with your ankle like that. Well that is, if you still want to work for me." Natsu said with a toothy grin. Lucy looked at the two of them then to everyone else. "Wait... what the Hell did I miss?!" We all laughed as the doctor chuckled. He walked out and told us to tell him if we needed anything.

Nova looked at Natsu then everyone else. We all nodded and she looked down with a smile and began to cry. "I'm so sorry you guys! I said some really hurtful things! I didn't mean any of it!" She began to wipe her tears away, but they kept falling. Lucy continues to look around at everyone confused. "SERIOUSLY! WHAT DID I MISS?!" Nova hugged Lucy and we all laughed. "So, did the doctor say with you can be checked out?" Nova asked. Lucy nodded. "He said I can actually leave in just a few minutes. After Natsu signs the papers." Natsu held a clipboard with a stack of papers. He looked up at us. "What?" Lucy shook her head and giggled. "Nothing."

Once he got done filling it out the doctor came back in and took it. He also had a bag of ice and gave it to Nova. He told us to have a good day and that we could now leave. I picked Nova up again and she was still embarrassed about it. Lucy looked at the both of us with a really confused look. "SERIOUSLY GUYS! WHAT'D I MISS?!"

Natsu's pov:
We walked out the front doors of the hospital and Brett asked if we wanted to ride with them. I looked to Lucy and then back to them. "I think I'm going to take Lucy site seeing. She hasn't been around here. She lived a few cities over." They nodded and Lucy hugged all of them, but not Brett. She looked at him for a second and ran to him and hugged him. "Thank you Brett. Natsu told me what you did. Thank you for saving me twice." Brett looked shocked and I smiled. Lucy ran back to my side and we all waved goodbye.

Lucy and I would just be walking and I asked if she was ok with that and she said that she was. So we began to walk in the city. We stopped at many different stores, but Lucy refused for me to buy anything for her. She said she'd feel guilty. I respected her decision and didn't buy anything for her if she asked me not to.

I got a call from someone that works for me and I answered it. It was just about meetings tomorrow and a few more things to sign. After we were done talking, I hung up and sigh. Lucy looked at me in confusion. "What's wrong?" I look down at her and shake my head. "It's nothing, just Business stuff." She looked at the window she was looking through then back to me. "I can help you." I waved my hand side to side. "Nah, I don't want you to exhaust yourself." She laughed which caused me to be confused. "What?" I asked and she still laughed. "Me, exhaust myself? Ha! That won't happen. Come on, let me help you."

I give in and agree. "Fine, but you have to stay by my side the whole time tomorrow. I'm meeting with other maf- I mean Company owners tomorrow." Lucy looked at me weirdly. "What? Were you about to say-" I cut her off as quickly as possible. "Oh! I just remembered something." She quickly stopped talking to hear me out. She nodded her head as a sign for me to keep talking. "I was going to buy to a phone. Is that ok with you?" She blushes and looks down. "But... I don't you to waste your money on me." I chuckle and pat her head. "It wouldn't be a waste. I promise." She looked up at me and nods. "O-ok.. thank you."

We began to walk to a phone store near our location. As we were walking we were passing by this alleyway when out of nowhere we heard a noise. Lucy was right by it while I was on the other side of her. We both stopped and we looked into the alleyway. There we saw something that we didn't expect to see. Lucy gasped and put one hand over her mouth.

"Is that....?"
