Chapter Eight

The first gunshot by Marrow with the intention to interrupt the ball followed not long after Luca promise to take down Xavier himself.

Immediately people in the hall started to scream, and looking for cover while rushing to the exit. While the members of Black Veil and some company employees pulled out their guns to ensure safety again.

Maddie didn't even scream when the first gunshot fell, she just flinched at the loud noise. But now she was frozen in place, looking for the origin of the shots, that were now coming from the upstairs galleries and her company employees downstairs. She stared at Xavier in disbelief, when he pulled out a gun before pulling her off the stage, while her father was pulled to the other direction by an employee.

"Don't worry they won't harm you. I'll explain later, My love. Just take cover" Xavier kissed her on the mouth and pushed her to the ground, leaving Maddie more than just shocked and scared.

He put the small table flipped in front of her, and left to find his members.

"Zach and Liam focus on Bill, he's close to you guys just behind the corner, follow him" Rios gave directions through the earpiece for all the members.

While Zach and Liam started following Bill and tried hard to remain unnoticed, most of the other members put on their mask and got their guns out.

It didn't take long for the members to gain the upper hand. Most of the company employees were already struggling and disarmed, it was time to focus on Black Veil .

I was watching from a safe distance, when Marrow and Hendry started trying to disarm Berry and Stanly. Other Red Eagle members were ordering the innocent people to lay down low on the cold ground, because we didn't want to harm anyone innocent.

I made my way downstairs. I only wanted to do my only job during the mission was to take down Xavier.

The Black Veil members were all disarmed, when I noticed Xavier and Bill missing.

"Where is Xavier and Bill?!!" As i pressed my earpiece to communicate with his other members.

"I'm right here Luca Castillo" turning my head around my eyes was met with the eyes of Xavier, who looked relatively calm for seeing his disarmed members on the floor in front of him.

When Xavier put his gun on the ground and kicked it over towards me. Then i raised my eyebrows towards his sudden action.

"I know you're here because of the deal. But it was probably a shock to hear that I'm engaged to the heiress of this company" clenching my fist, my anger starting to grew inside me when i heard the word 'engaged'.

I got my gun out and pointed it directly at Xavier head.

"I know you wouldn't. Because you care too much about what she thinks. We both know what she would think about you shooting me right here and now" on the outside I remained frozen and calm, but on the inside my thoughts start debating. 

Debating? what is more important to myself is, what Maddie thinks of me after killing her fiance, or getting revenge on Xavier.

"Where is she!" I shout and lowered my gun. 

"Don't worry, Bill already took her far away from here" Xavier said and letting out a little laugh. I grip my gun tightly and my anger starting to grew.
