Chapter Nine

~Maddie~

"Bill you're hurting my wrist" I tried to get out from his grip but failed.

"Sorry Maddie, we gotta be fast though, come on" Bill was rushing through the corridors, trying to get to the back entrance as fast as possible while dragging me behind him, grabbing my wrist firmly.

"S-Stop" I was already out of my breath.

Then Bill let go of my wrist, I squatted down because I was to tired of running.

"Do you have any idea how hard it is to jog in these heels? You're killing my feet Bill" I gave Bill a little pout and taking of my heels.

"You know most people would rather have their feet hurt instead of getting shoot, so let's go!" Bill grabbed my wrist again, and started to keep running to the place I didn't know where are we headed to.

"Not so fast Cafter Owen!" Bill immediately stopped in his tracks then i bumped into his back.

Then Bill and I slowly turned towards the voice, to where we met with two younger boys, one looking quite nervous.

They were both out of breath with guns in their hands.

"That's Bill, not Cafter Owen" I looked around confused, that's where Bill suddenly let go of my wrist.

"No it's not! I-I mean yes he is Bill b-but uhm-" the smaler one of the boys started stuttering and looked for help.

"Cafter Owen is my real name, Maddie " Bill sighed, while it took me a moment to let the information sink in my brains.

"Oh my gosh! I can't believe it! All these years and you never told me your real name! That's so rude! I even shared food with you! I thought we were friends you stupi-" I was slapping Bill arm furiously, when i started to think all the moments we shared together and he never told me his real name, but was interrupted by a gunshot, fired by the taller guy.

"O-Oh right they both have a gun" i started to hide behind Bill, then he got his gun out again.

"What do you want? And Liam who's the hell is that? A newbie? What's Luca thinking letting a newbie go with you to stop the second in command of Black Veil? Is this a suicide mission?" Bill asked to the boys is known as Liam.

"Bl-black Veil?" I looked over Bill from his shoulder.

I clearly confused with the situation, and the Chardonnay I've been chugging down the whole evening wasn't benefiting the situation in any way.

Bill sighed again. "Maddie could you do me a favour?"
"Just stay behind me, I don't want Xavier to kill me just because you've been chugging down wine the whole evening like a desperate housewife"

I quickly nodded and stood behind Bill again for cover.

"Who are you little boy?" Bill addressed the nervous looking friend of Liam once more.

It took a moment for him to gain control over his nervousness, but he reminded himself how much he wanted this and how much he trained.

"My name is Zach from Red Eagle, Now hand over the girl!" He shout at Bill.

Zach was sure he was doing a great job and that he sounded convincing, that was until he saw Liam facepalming himself. And Bill looking at him emotionless, not sure if he should laugh at the young boy in front of him or not.

"What if not?" Bill was curious about what the young, inexperienced boy would say next.

"Then I'll shoot you!" Zach pointed his gun towards Bill, who just started laughing.

Bill turned around and threw me over his left shoulder, hear head resting agains his broad back.

"Liam, you should do the talking next time. And tell Luca that he probably should stop finding members that are chickens" Bill says as he was laughing by the Zach action.

"This is my last warning Cafter Owen,  I'm serious and I'm so joking right now!" Zach warned one more time, aiming his gun, but Bill just kept on walking, not taking Zach that serious.

"Zach don't" Liam was afraid of what Zach would do, he never heard so much seriousness in Zach tone.

And that's when the gunshot fell.

Bill fell to the ground together with me, the i let out a little scream.

Zach was proud of himself, for sticking to his word and overcoming his nervousness, he was smiling and happy for completing his first mission, that had nothing to do with drug handling.

That was until he heard Liam scream.

"Zach! You just shot Maddie!"
"Our boss will definitely be mad with your actions" Liam said to Zach with a worried tone.
