Chapter Thirteen

~Luca~

"What the fuck do you mean she's gone?" I slammed my hands on the office table. I couldn't expect that she's escape from me.

"Josh went to check on her this morning to change the bandage on her graze shot, but she was gone. He immediately told me and I checked every place in this house" James sighed loudly, holding his shirt and sweatpants that Maddie wore last night in his hands.

"Fuck" I outraged threw the opened files off the table harshly, making James flinch. 

I creased my eyebrows, thinking everything is already over. How is my possibly to getting her back? I didn't like to admit it, but I was still madly in love with her. Even if I denied it every way possible but deep down inside my heart i was truly in love with her and i can't live without her

In fact, I would do everything to get my girl back and keep her safe. Everything.

"Luca?" James's voice was quiet, he was anxious to speak up to an angry Luca and make him probably even angrier.

"The other thing is that I know for sure that she's not marrying Xavier for love, there is another reason" James looked down on the floor, when he saw Luca was freezing in place. 

"James, tell Rios to find her now!" Luca shout give instruct to James.

~Maddie~

On my way back home I made sure to get some dirt on my dress and bare skin. I put on the dress before climbing out of the window in the living room window back at Red Eagle's place. 

It was around 8 in the morning. The sky was clouded and everything just seemed cold.

I was walking down the street of my house, when I stopped at a parked car. I looked at myself in the reflection.

I looked legit enough to fulfil my plan, only one thing left.

I ripped off the bandage on my neck and was greeted by a red, bloody streak running from the front of my neck to the back. 

"Ouch,that hurt. I'm such a dumbass" I flinched at the pain that kicked in a few seconds later than expected.

I was already walking up the driveway, when my father came running out of the door.

"Maddie? Xavier come outside! Maddie is here!" my father pulled me into a tight hug. 

"I'm so relieved" he pulled away from the hug and then he saw the graze shot on my neck. Then he quickly shout.

"Xavier! Call the doctor for a house visit!" my father took my arm and supported me walking inside. I could see in his eyes that he was worried of me.

"Tell me, what happened to you after that night Maddie?" my father was sitting across from me, while Xavier was eying me from the corner of his eye while he poured some tea on the kitchen counter for me. 

Then our private doctor came to our house. The doctor treated my graze shot, while my father called the police and told them that they found me, because apparently they were looking for me.

I was sitting on the couch, still in the dirty dress and not wearing any shoes.

"I honestly don't remember anything, not even the ball itself?" Xavier put down the cup on the kitchen counter again and turned to face me.

"You don't?" Xavier picked up the cup again and walked over to where we were sitting. 

I just shook my head in response. I didn't know what to answer because i won't tell them that I staying at Luca place after the incident.

"I'm tired, I should clean up and rest" I excused myself and made my way upstairs to my room.

Then I stood on the balcony of my room just for a few minutes, thinking about everything that has happened.

I didn't like to admit it, but I already knew that I made a big mistake. I shouldn't have left and returned to my life here. I just shouldn't have left without telling him.

I was  just drawn to him in any way possible. I didn't know that I was looking for someone like him until I actually saw him. I knew it was going to be him and that there was no turning back. A stranger, that suddenly without any warning means the entire world to me. 

When I opened the balcony door again and went back inside my room, then i saw Xavier was sitting on my bed, flashing me a half hearted smile.

"Need help getting out of that dress?" I just nodded, while Xavier stood up, eyeing me again. 

His aura wasn't like it usual was. His aura wasn't as bright or friendly as I was used to. He seemed intimidating, scary and dark.

I held my hair in my hand, while Xavier unzipped my dress slowly.

"Maddie, I know you lied to me and your father" Xavier whispered into my ear, before pressing a light kiss onto my exposed shoulder.

"I know you were with him and trust me everything that happened, it'll have consequences, sweetheart" from that moment, i feel regret for coming back home. And now I'm in the trap of the devil hands.
