Chapter Twelve

~Maddie~

"Did she really say that James?" pressing my ear against the kitchen door, I could make out the voices of James and Samuel talking definitely about me. 

I was freshly showered and wore James shirt and pants.

"Yes, I'm sure of it. I don't know what is it supposed to mean, why would she marry Xavier if she doesn't love him? Should we tell Luca?"

"No!. He is still mad we should tell him once he cooled off a little" Samuel and James kept their conversation going, while I made my way down the hall.

The lights were turned off so I assumed that everyone was fast asleep.

I stopped in front of the door that led to Luca's office and pressed my ear against the door. I didn't heard a single thing coming from his office.

Then I opened the door and stepped into the dark room. Even his perfume was still lingering in the air. My hand was looking for the light switch so that i could switch on the light.

Turning on the light the air left all my lungs. That when I let out a loud scream.

"Luca what the hell are you trying to do!"

Luca was standing right in front of me, not moving an inch.

"What do you think you're doing Maddie? Sneaking in my office?" he stepped closer, cold expression on his face, making me back up to the door even more.

Luca kept moving forward until my back was hit against the wall, my body trapped between the door and him.

"Talk to me princess" Luca firmly grabbed my chin in between his fingers and moved my head to the side, just to get a better look at my neck.

His other hand was  brushing its way down my neck, while his other hand stayed on my chin with a tight grip. I could feel the hair on my neck starting to stand up, Luca touch leaving me speechless and giving me goosebumps.

Then Luca actions were interrupted by a knock on the door, and he immediately loosened up his grip.
He put his hands on my shoulders and moved my body aside.

The door opened to reveal James and Samuel, both looking surprised.
"We heard a scream is everything okay?" James worried if something is going wrong in the house.

Luca just nodded, then he stepping out the door.

"James, bring Maddie upstairs she needs to rest" Luca said to James then leaving me speechless in the room.

As i was laying down in bed the only thing I could think about was Luca.
But what was I going to do?
My dad was probably already looking for me.

I couldn't possibly stay here, even though Luca wanted me to stay until my graze shot is healed. It's not like I didn't want to be with him, I really did. Because everytime I'm with him, i feel save and secure being near him.

It's just that he made it clear that he didn't want me anymore.
