CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

"Luca please don't" I ran after Luca, who was ready to rush out of the door, gun in his hand, some members following behind him.

When I reached him I grabbed his hand.

"Luca, please, you could hurt my father" tears were starting to form in my eyes.

The situation hit me hard, like a ton of bricks falling down on me. I wouldn't want my father in hurt during this war.

"Maddie, you seriously think your father is innocent? He probably wanted you to marry him because he already knows! That's why he planned to give the company to you and him!" he pulled his hand out of mine and brushed his hand through his messy hair. I could see Luca's eye look so scared right now.

"Maddie, Zach just like all my other members, is my responsibility. If I don't end this now, he'll keep hurting my people"

"But he is still my father, no matter what Luca. Please don't do anything that puts him in danger, he is the only part of my family that I have left, his safety and health is also my responsibility" my tear flow on my cheeks.

Luca put his gun away, sighing loudly and turn to the other members.

"Samuel, Dean get me more information about the situation and don't do anything that could hurt Maddie's father" Luca pushed past me and rushed back into his office, not looking back once.

"A pretty girl like you shouldn't be sitting all by herself" the man smiled at the girl sitting in the booth.

"Someone stood me up" the girl sighed loudly before she looked at the owner of the voice who's an appearance made blush rise to her cheeks.

Of course, he already knew all of that. The guy that stood Anna up was no other than Matt. It was way too easy for Rios to get access to his messenger since he is a Novice in Black Veil. To put it in other words: he had no experience and completely oblivious about the things surrounding him.

"He must be a total idiot. Mind if I join you?" the man flashed a smile to the now completely red-faced girl.

"N-no not at all" Anna smiled back at the tall boy, who introduced himself as Sam and sat down across from her.

Time flew by as the two were busy chatting and exchanging stories.
"Give me your phone" they were both walking down the streets, since he offered to walk Anna home, like a gentleman.

Anna happily gave her phone to the handsome man, who took a little longer than usual putting his number in.

"I'll text you later Anna" he gave her a little kiss on the cheek before turning around and walking down the way he just came, leaving the girl in front of her door in awe.

"You got it Leo?" as soon as he sat down on the backseat of the parked car a few roads down Samuel and Dean turned to look at him.

"It was a piece of cake" he turned on a little device and the boys could make out Anna voice and the voice of her roommate, talking about no other than Sam.

"You've done a great job Leo"

"Anna, I need the business report about outsourcing and a coffee for me and Bill on my desk in 5 minutes" it's been hours since Rios and Ren listened in to the conversations of Xavier's secretary.

Of course, she knew about the Black Veil. But not about Red Eagle.

A few minutes passed. A little sound could be heard, probably because Anna was standing up.

A file cabinet closing could be heard as well as a sound of the coffee machine running.

Her heels were clicking on the floor when she opened the door to Xavier's office.

"If she doesn't decide to come back, we'll have to take her. And kill him" Xavier's voice was distant but he could be heard clearly.

Ren quickly turns up the volume and call for James before Bill spoke again.

"Xavier, that basically would mean war even worse than it is right now. People on both sides will die" Bill's voice was calm but the worry could be heard in his voice.

James entered the room and was listening carefully to the ongoing conversation.

"I promised her father to keep her safe for the rest of my life. And that is what I'm going to do. I made up my mind. I don't care about anything else, this is war. I will get her back at any costs"
The voices started to fade, and Anna's heels were clicking on the floor again.

"It's war then, let's be the first ones to make a move" James calmly turned off the device and walked out the door, followed by Rios and Ren.
