A killer's tale ~ Hunter x Hunter ~ Kurapika X OC {finished}

Chapter 10:

A loud voice wakes me up. I look up and immediately find the source of the sound, the intercom.

"Hello everyone, we have almost reached our destination. It will take a little more than an hour starting now before we'll arrive. Please be patient a little more."

I sit up and rub my eyes, I notice that Hisoka already left. Illumi is sitting on his bed, he seems to be checking something on his phone.

"Good morning," I greet him.

"Morning, are you ready for me to put the needles back in place?" Always straight to the point.

I nod and swing my legs off the bed, facing him. Illumi gets up and bends over to me, in a matter of a few seconds all needles are back in place and I am Myne again instead of Illura. "Thanks."

"No problem, make sure they'll continue trusting you."

"Of course I will, that's my job after all. Only Mandy still bugs me," I admit.

"Don't use assassination techniques when she's close. Better not take any chances," Illumi answers.

"What if I'm forced to?" I ask him.

"If you're forced to, you wouldn't be able to live up to your name as Zoldyck."

I nod, understanding what he means. Illumi and me still see ourselves as the strongest Zoldycks, even stronger when working together. We're an amazing team. I can manipulate any type of liquid, making my defense and offense quite strong, also I think it's pretty easy to adapt to someone else's personality. Illumi is less social, but more tactical than me. Of course, I can safe myself out of most situations, but Illumi's plans are close to always succeeding. Also, he's physically a bit stronger, simply because he is taller and has a male building. It's unfair really. Though on the other hand, I guess I have the advantage of being a girl. I can seduce men, and some women. Allura, a name based on the word alluring. It's clear what they expected of me as woman.

"I'll be going back to Gon, Killua, Kurapika and Leorio," I say.

Illumi nods. "You should be fine, even with Mandy being there. If she finds out, tell me and I'll speak to her."

"Alright, see you." I get no response, not that I expected one. Illumi isn't the most social Zoldyck after all. 

The zeppelin lands and as we walk out I finally manage to find Gon, Killua, Kurapika, Leorio, and, to my annoyance, Mandy.

"Hey Myne! Where have you been?" Gon asks.

"I found a sleeping room and decided to stay there. I immediately locked the door so I wouldn't be joined by anyone I didn't want to be joined by. I'm sorry if I worried you," I lie. I scratch my back while apologising. 

"That's quite smart. Leorio and I shared a room with Tompa," Kurapika explains.

"Gon and I have been all night with the chairman, trying to get a ball," Killua says. "That man is annoying."

I bet he couldn't have beat the chairman. I need to do some effort to not let out a chuckle at how annoyed he is. I bet he didn't expect to be beaten by anyone here. I'm sure there are enough examinators who can beat him. I know for sure Illumi and me can beat him, not to talk about Hisoka.

"Alright. This will be your task," Mechi starts off, silencing the group. "Spidereagles have their nests here. You jump down, grab on egg and make your way back up. You can lift on the winds. Afterwards you'll cook the egg. If you manage this, you win. I'll demonstrate it."

Menchi jumps into the cliff in front of her and grabs one of the white webs below us. She waits, I can feel a slight breeze tickle my nose, as she drops and holds onto an egg. A strong wind from below suddenly lifts her up and with a flip she ends in front of us on her feet.

"T-that's crazy, I'm not risking my life like that!" someone behind me yells. It's annoying, this is supposed to be the hardest exam. Of course there are risky tasks like this.

We walk to the edge and a number of persons jump. I jump too and grab onto the web.

"Wait with jumping!" Gon yells. The boy has incredible senses, he's impressive.

"I can't take this!" Some guy shouts beside me and he lets go. I see how he's accompanied by some others, all grabbing an egg but disappearing in the depths below us.

"Now!" Gon shouts, as also I feel a breeze pass by.

I let go of the web, wait a few seconds and snatch an egg. I stay calm, either a wind from below will bring me back up, or I will continue falling. Whichever happens, panicking won't help me. But as expected, a strong wind from below lifts me up and I'm thrown back onto the mountain. I walk over to Kurapika, who dropped quite close to me. "That was quite the adventure."

"Oh yes, you can certainly say that. I think we should be glad Gon is with us," he remarks.

"Yes, he has very strong senses," I agree.

"Oh hey! You made it too!" Mandy suddenly runs over to us. To my big surprise she embraces Kurapika in a tight hug. "I was so scared someone wouldn't make it."

I look at her body language, and her slightly higher pitched tone. She must be acting, she wouldn't care. Just as Illumi and I don't care about the other contestants. Though, she's certainly acting very nice to Kurapika. Lots of physical contact and cutesy behavior. She lets go of him and looks up at him, since she's only slightly higher than I am. She smiles, while a slight blush covers her cheeks. All manipulatable if you know how to. 

Mandy runs off, towards the big bath to cook our eggs in, as Leorio walks up to Kurapika.

"Man, she seems to be really into you..."

Leorio is right, and not. Mandy seems to be into Kurapika, but I assume she must be playing it. Something is up with the Kurapika guy, something Myne wants, and I'm going to find out what this is.
