Ellison Taylor
Ian was excited when his delivery came hours later. We were currently unwrapping everything and was discussion about where to put the things.
"This carpet is so soft." I said touching the grey fluffy carpet that we decided to put near the standing egg hanging chair.
He smiled. "I really like the colour."
It took us a while to put things around and when we were done, both of us give each other satisfying look.
"I think we did a good job." He said.
Two staffs walks in with a white vanity table and another one brought in a vanity chair.
"What's this?" I asked.
I see some staffs coming in with bags in their hand.
"They will be taking over from here." He said. "Let's go for a walk." He pulled me out of the room.
"Care to explain?" I asked turning back to see more of them coming in and out.
"Just trust me." He said and pulled me towards the stairs. "Let's walk around the neighbourhood."
We walked around the quiet neighbourhood. His neighbourhood was big and beautiful. Expensive cars passed by us. It must be difficult to keep up with this lifestyles.
"Do you go for walk, often?"
"I do run around the neighbourhood in the morning. I need fresh air most of the time to help me think." He said and kissed the back of my hand.
When we came back from the walk. He was excited- way too excited. When I went to his room, I get why. The room now have vanity table with make-ups and things like that.
"Why would you do that?" I asked.
"I thought you will like it?" He frowned.
"I do.. but."
He pulled me to the white double door in his room and opened his walk in closet. His walk in closet was how I expected. Neat and clean. He turned on the lights, but dim it a bit so it doesn't hurt our eyes. One side of the room had his suits and clothing lined up and the other one was filled with women's clothings, shoes and bags.
"Ian." I said. "What is all this."
"I don't like to share things, Ell but you are an exception." He said proudly. I was mad, now. I was not happy with his spending.
"I'm upset." I tell him straight without beating the bush.
"Why?" He frowns. "You don't like the clothes? Shoes?" He looked around.
"You are spending excessive." I said.
His eyes softened. "I know, I want you to be happy."
"These things doesn't make me happy." I said. "I really appreciated your thoughts, but next time please let me know before you do something like this?" I pleaded.
"Okay." He said. "But do you like it?" He asked. I couldn't help but feel like he was not listening.
"I love it." I said. "I have no idea how you know my sizes and stuffs."
"I have a personal shopper and she did it for you, too. I asked Claire and she was the one who shared the detail with the personal shopper."
"Absolutely wonderful." I said with sarcasm. "Why is it in this room and not the other room?" I asked.
"Good question." He said thoughtfully. "The other room is when you need time to think, like a little get away from me, but I hope it doesn't happen."
I raised my eyebrow.
"You think ahead.."
"I do." He smiled. "I rather have you over here and me going out then you running somewhere unsafe that I have no idea about."
"You are so controlling." I said.
"I like knowing what's going on." He explains.
I kiss him quickly. "Thank you for everything."
"You're most welcome." He smiled.
Going back to work on Monday was tiring for me. I had a good weekend at Ian's place. We played games and did painting. Well, at least I tried to do. He was awfully good at that. I feel like he can do everything except, cooking. I found out he can't cook! We did cooking yesterday and he was struggling with cutting and I get it. He can't be good in everything. That would have been so unfair. I laughed at my painting in the end. He found it amusing and said we should hang it in the hallway.
"No!" I said. "Not my painting, it's too funny."
"It's fine." He said. "It's our place anyway."
When he said our's place, my heart skipped a beat. What is he talking about?
Here, I'm back to work with a cup of tea in my hand as I met Rosa in the lobby looking frantic.
"Your short vacation made you look good." She said.
"Thanks." I said, I feel more stressful actually, with Marilyn and her family coming in tomorrow. Seems like fun. "How was work? Was everyone able to do just fine?"
"Everything is good, we need more approvals from you."
"Did you receive the file I sent you through mail?"
"Yes." She said. "I think the idea is perfect."
"Great, we can share this in the meeting today."
I met Kingsley in the elevator and he give me a painful expression. Ian's words popped into my mind. I shouldn't feel guilty about it, but I am. It sucks when the person who you like doesn't feel the same, it's so bad.
"Kingsley." I greeted Him.
"How are you?" He asked in a quieter tone and I know Rosa can feel a little awkwardness coming from us.
"Good, how are you?"
"Could have been better." He give me a tight smile and looked ahead. I reached my floor first.
"See you Kingsley." I said.
"Later, Ellison." He calls out.
"What's with that mood?" Rosa asked me. I didn't answer her question. It's personal.
Time seem to move faster when you come back to work and there is a load of work welcoming you. I had meetings after meetings along with paper works. It was so tiring by the end of my shifts.
Ian texted me he was waiting outside in his car.
"I'm coming." I texted him and walked to the elevator.
I see his Audi outside the building. I couldn't help but feel happy.
"Hi." I said to him as soon as I stepped inside the car.
"Hello beautiful." He said leaning in for a quick kiss. "How was work today?"
"Tiring, but good. How about you?"
"Same old." He shrugged. "Put on your seat belt." He said. "We will go home and have dinner today. Linda cooked some foods already."
"Perfect." I said. I have been staying over at his place since Saturday.
"What are you planning to do tomorrow?" He asked.
