"That was amazing!" Kurt ran up to me and hugged me. I was laughing and felt embarrassed at the same time.

Everyone was clapping and cheering and I looked over at Dean, smiling wide.

That's when it registered it was Kurt not Dean that hugged me.

I was breathless, that song took it from me and I went to Dean. He slung an arm around me and walked us back to the table.

"I knew you could do it." He said to me and I went red again. "All you need is someone to believe in you and we all did. Even Kurt and Marcus. They don't know you and they trusted you to do it."

I felt proud again. I wanted to say thanks but the words wouldn't form. Dean looked at me as he let me go.

"Was that a thanks you're trying to spit out?"

"Yeah." I laughed.

"See, you are getting better at my compliments." He boasted and turned to his friends, leaving my jaw open in surprise before a large smile appeared.

Unfortunately, Dean's band came second but it was so close. Dean wasn't too fazed by it and it was nearly one in the morning when we got back to the apartment.

I was so tired and my eyes were drooping as Steph and I got changed in the bathroom in to some pyjamas. Steph wore her usual short shorts and a singlet and I had on a singlet but long cotton pants. We had washed the make up off our faces and I was brushing my hair back to its usual part.

Dean had stated that Steph and I were sharing the king size bed in his mother's room and Tommy could have his brothers bed while he crashed on the couch.

We didn't stay up much later and before I was even comfortable on the bed, I was asleep.

*****

I woke to Steph jumping on the bed. "Get up." She urged and I groaned, rubbing my eyes.

"Urgh! What time is it?" The brightness in the bedroom was blinding me.

"Like, eight thirty! Come on. We are going out. Get dressed." Then Steph jumped off the bed and left me alone.

I groaned, rubbing my face and sat up, yawning. It took me a while to get moving but I eventually got up and went to my bag, digging through it.

I had no idea what we were doing today and I stumbled out off the room and found everyone in the living room.

Steph was stretched out, leaning against the back of the couch in denim shorts and a singlet.

"What's the plans today?" Tommy asked as he wrapped his arms around Steph.

"Get ya togs on." Dean stated, "mum purchased tickets for us for a theme park."

"Which one?" I inquired, making their heads turn.

"All. But I'm thinking the water park."

Steph came to me and took my arm. "We're gonna get dressed. We'll be back."

Steph and I went back to the bedroom and she pulled out her bikinis and I did the same.

We quickly got dressed and then placed on our shirts and shorts.

Piling in to Dean's car, he drove us to a water park and after waiting in line, we were through the gates, looking around for rides.

"Here, we'll leave our stuff here." Tommy suggested as we went to a short but shady tree. We dropped our bags and towels and I watched Steph take Tommy's hand. "Where to first?"

"This one." Dean grinned, pointing to a ride nearby. We hastily walked to the queue and spent our waiting time, talking. When our turn came up for a tube, we discovered it was a maximum of three people.

"That's okay, I'll wait for you down here." I stated to them.

Steph glared at me. "Oh no. We are not doing this. You are not missing out. This ride does two people at a time as well. Dean and Tommy in one tube, you and me in another."

"Steph." I leaned over and whispered to her. "I've never done this before."

"I know and you aren't missing out. It's fun, Beth." She sighed. Dean and Tommy had a tube each, carrying them as we climbed the stairs.

I started hyperventilating. My grip on Steph's hand was tight but she didn't notice as she continued to speak to Tommy.

Steph looked great in her two piece dark blue bikinis. I wasn't that brave. I had my teal colour bikinis on with shorts and a singlet. I wish I was as brave as my best friend. I wish I had the confidence.

By the time it was our turn, I knew exactly how high I was. I was one hundred and eighty five steps high. Metres in the air.

"I can't do this, Steph." I said in a low manner. Steph took my hands and squeezed them.

"It's okay, Beth." She said softly.

Then Dean stepped forward, taking Steph's place. "Hey. I know it looks scary and trying things for the first time is. But we are all here. Nothing bad is going to happen. It will be fun and if you don't like this one then that's fine, we won't push you to go on anymore." His words were soft and calming as he gently gripped my hands.

I gave Dean a nod. "Okay. You promise?"

I felt so pale, like all blood had drained from my face.

"I promise."

"Okay." I inhaled then let it out. Dean let go of one of my hands but kept the other, gently urging me to go to the tube set up for us. "Where's Steph?"

Dean pointed to the other tunnel and I saw Tommy sitting behind Steph, waiting for us. Hesitantly, I sat where I was told and felt Dean behind me, his legs on both sides of me.

I gripped the handles on the tube. My clothes were wet, the water cold as my arms rest on top of Dean's legs.

I was ready to chicken out again when we were pushed forward and we were sliding down the water tunnel.

I clenched my teeth, a strange noise leaving my throat as the tunnel went black and my heart rate rose, adrenaline pumped through me then I squealed, my fingers tightening around the handles.

Dean let out a yeehaw and I giggled as we swerved left and right, downwards. My left hand then loosened as we went over a little bump and I panicked, grabbing what I could which happened to be Dean's left leg.

He laughed before it turned to a howl, my fingers digging in to him.

Finally, I saw the light at the end of the tunnel and we were at the end of the ride.

The ride was exhilarating and I was petrified but it was fun as well.

I climbed out off the tube, releasing Deans leg as we stepped aside, letting the next in line take the tube.

Steph and Tommy just got off their tube and she rushed to me.

"How was it?" Steph asked me, smiling. "You look so pale."

"I guess, I'm gonna have to get over it." I sighed out.

Steph squealed as she took my hand. "Sweet. Well, you two boys go do whatever it is you two do when we aren't around. We'll meet you back here in an hour."

Both the boys frowned. "Whatever." Dean grumbled. "Come on Thomas. We'll go on this one."

Tommy shrugged as the boys walked off and Steph and I went to where our stuff was.

We took out our water bottles and laid the towels out flat. I heard music softly playing as Steph played with her phone before laying down. "Take ya clothes off. Get a tan. You have the skin for it. Hell you have the body for it. Flaunt what you have, girl!" Steph encouraged me.

I played with the hem of my shirt before sighing and taking my singlet off and slowly sliding my pants down to reveal my teal bikini set.

Both Steph and I laid on our backs, talking about how fun the weekend has been so far.

We spent the whole time talking like we hadn't seen each other in months, rotating from our backs to our stomachs.
