Kavya's POV

I woke up and as usual the first thing I did was to take his picture from the night stand and greet him 'good morning.'

Then I brushed my teeth and had leftover rice and aloo curry for breakfast.

And, quickly packed bread and butter for lunch.

I decided to get ready quickly for school otherwise I will arrive there after the prayers and that will be not a good impression on the students.

I got freshened up in a black kurti and white leggings and did my hair.

Then I applied sindoor and tied the mangalautra around my neck and now I was ready to leave.

I locked the door and was walking down the stairs but I was stopped by Mala aunty who stays above me on the fifth floor.

"Good morning, Kavya. Going for work?" she asked and looked at me from top to above.

"I think you have gained a little bit weight. I mean, I am just saying because I am concerned for you. Don't take it personally," she said and I looked at her and gave her a small smile.

My dad always asked me to be friendly with neighbours as I live alone in Mumbai.

"No..no..aunty, I know you are just concerned for me," I said with a fake smile.

"I mean being healthy leads to so many diseases. When Soham was alive you were so slim and looked so beautiful but after he died you stopped looking at your health but you are also right. If he is not alive for whom you will get ready? Right? For whom you will look beautiful as your everything is gone," she said with a pity.

"Okay, I will leave now. Bye. Whenever you feel lonely living alone, remember that the door of my house is always open for you," she said and I nodded my head with that fake smile of mine which has seemed to be real by now as this is the only smile I have been giving to people for the past three years.

I took the elevators towards the ground floor and as soon I reached the ground floor, I took an auto towards "Little Angels high school."

The auto stopped midway in the traffic and I looked outside to see a couple holding hands tightly while crossing the road.

"You are so clumsy. You almost died and that's why I have to always hold your hand while crossing the road."

I remembered his words and a smile came on my lips.

Now I have learned how to cross the road carefully, Sohum.

The auto started but after few seconds it stopped and a man entered in the auto.

Once again the auto started and I felt a hand on my thigh.

I looked from the side of my eyes and felt that the man was roaming his hand around my thigh.

I didn't say anything but quickly took out the safety pin from my bag which I always keep for days like this and slowly pierced his hand.

"Aah," he shouted loudly and moved the hands away from me.

"What happened, sir?" Auto drived asked with concern.

"Nothing," he said and looked at me and I smirked and he moved away from me.

I got down as my school came and got down and gave fare to the auto driver.

I entered the school and Shastri Uncle, our security guard greeted me good morning with a smile on his face and I greeted him back.

"Kavya," I heard a voice and turned around to see my colleague Aashika running towards me.

"Thank god. I thought today also I will be late," she said.
