After I finished running (well actually I tripped) I was lying face down in the grass. I looked up a mirror stood in front of me.
I looked terrible , my blue hair everywhere. My glasses broken. My heart racing.
"Are you ok?" A voice asks me.
I can't recognize it.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
A hand reaches out to me. I grab it and stand up.
It's a male.
He stares straight into my eyes.
"What are you doing out in the middle of the forest, at 2 am" he checks his watch.
"What are you doing?" I counter him.
"Touché" he says.
I look into his eyes. I feel like I know him.
"Hey I'm sorry"
"For helping me up?"
"No for being a jerk. I'm sorry"
I realize who this is. This is Cooper White.
"It's ok."
"So what happened, rumor going around the school is that you went off the deep end"
"Uh I kinda did." We both laugh
"I'm heading to a party wanna come?"
"I can't, need to leave. I'm sorry."
"It's fine. I deserve it"
"No. No. No. It's not because of the... I just can't stay here much longer. Tell everyone from school I say hi." I walk away.
"I will."
"Oh and Cooper?"
"Ya?" He smiles.
"Here" I hand him my phone number than walk away. But I wanna go to the party. So I'll go but not have anyone see me.
I follow him a few feet to a huge party. He walks into the party and handshakes with Kyle. Kyle. Jason and Alan's old friend.
"Hey, have you heard?"
"Heard what?" Cooper puts my phone number securely in his back pocket.
"Abbie came back into town today"
"Really? I don't believe it" Cooper scratches his head.
What is he doing?
"I heard she shaved her head and dyed it red!" Kyle starts jumping.
"Probably."
Is he being a jerk or protecting me?
"I always knew she would go off the deep end. She was crazy." I thought the voice belonged to Kyle it seemed like something he would say.
But it belonged to Cooper.
I jumped down from the tree. Cooper left Kyle sitting there alone.
I walked up to Kyle.
"Hey"
He stared up at me for a second, shocked.
"Abbie?"
"Yep" I popped the P.
"So it's true you really went off the deep end" he starts to laugh.
"No it's not true. I like this color. And I'm fine. I live in a mansion in Hollywood" I'm pulling off the lie!
"Oh, sorry. Cooper was just here talking about you, do you want me to get him?"
"Please do. We need to talk"
He walked away and for a few minutes I sat alone.
