Dean-30
Sam-26
Meredith-20

Meredith was sitting outside on the hotel steps trying to clear her head. It was sometime around midnight and even though she was exhausted she just couldn't sleep. Her life right now sucked and nothing was going right. Lucifer was walking free, the angels jump started the apocalypse, and Sam and Dean were fighting constantly. She felt physically and mentally drained. She had bags under her eyes from lack of sleep and she couldn't hardly bring herself to eat without getting sick. Her nerves were shot.

"Can't sleep?" A voice called from the bottom of the steps. Meredith looked alarmed and then confused when she realized who it was. "Gabriel?" She asked. "What are you doing here?"

"You're thinking too loud, sugar." He said walking up the steps, sitting down beside her.

"Sorry for the inconvenience." She said sarcastically. "What are you doing here?" She asked him.

"Thought I'd check up on my favorite human." He said sweetly and she rolled her eyes.

"So, what's wrong?" He asked her pulling a piece a candy out from his jacket and popping it into his mouth.

"Nothing, everything is perfect." She said looking up at the sky as it started to drizzle.

"I know when you're lying, you know? I can see your thoughts." He said smartly.

"Well if you can see my thoughts then you know what I'm thinking about." She said annoyed. This was supposed to be her quite time.

"True." He said after a moment. "But you won't feel better unless you talk about it so..... talk."

Meredith sighed. He wasn't going to shut up until she talked. "This whole goddamn apocalypse. Sam and Dean are always fighting and wanting me to choose sides. How am I supposed to choose a side? I don't want too, I don't want to choose between my brothers." She said angrily.

"How did you do it, Gabriel? Choose between Lucifer and Michael?" She asked him.

"I didn't." He said leaning back. "I left. It was too hard for me so I abandoned my family. I pretended to be a trickster and messed with people's lives. It was better than being in the middle of family drama." He told her.

"Sometimes I wish I could leave." She said sadly. "I get so angry at them sometime. They're tearing are family apart fighting like this and they don't even see it." She was quite for a few moments before she spoke. "But I can't. I couldn't leave them if I tried. They're my whole life and I wouldn't be able to function without them. So, that leaves me stuck." Meredith said looking at Gabriel.

"Have you tried talking to them?" He asked.

"Of course I have. They're just too tall and stubborn to listen to reason" she said angrily.

"Look at us, huh? Bonding over our tragic lives." Gabriel said trying to cheer her up.

"Oh yeah, we're two peas in a pod." She said sarcastically at him with a small smirk.

She stared off into the rain for a few minutes before a sudden realization came to her. She looked at Gabriel and he looked at her. "What?" He asked even though he knew what she was going to ask him.

"I'm your vessel, aren't I?" She asked him. With the amount of craziness that was going on in her life she wasn't even surprised.

"Yep." He said looking back towards the night. After a few moments he looked at her. "But I won't possess you." He said. "Not unless you really wanted me too."

She sighed. She knew he wouldn't. Despite all the other douche bag angels Gabriel was different. She had a certain bond with him, and him with her. They knew exactly what the other was going through.

"What are we going to do with our brothers, Gabriel?" She asked exhausted.

"I don't know, sugar. I don't know." He said softly.
