"I'm telling you, she failed me because she hates me," Red argued.
"Didn't you fail the first two exams?" I asked.
"Man I'm telling you, don't take that teacher," Red stated while eating his turkey bologna sandwich.
Jack took a sip from his can of orange juice to try not to butt in the argument.
"I think we should go and check it out," Red insisted. "The bunker I mean."
"Who would want to spend their summer vacation with a military veteran," Jack replied.
"I'm telling you guys, he has some cool weapons and stuff too," Red became persistent as he kept twitching and turning from his seat at the cafeteria. "Oh, let me get my coffee."
He got up out of the chair and made his way towards the coffee aisle.
"Maybe it will be fun," I said to Jack. "We get to see one of those underground bunkers and stuff."
"When the hell would we ever use an underground bunker?" he asked. He then looked at me weird, as if I was a stranger to him.
"Hey, you okay?" Jack asked.
I quickly got up to realize it was just a dream and I had fallen asleep on the chair.
"Just tired," I replied.
"You should go to bed soon, bud," Jack replied while holding his baby and sitting on a burgundy-colored sofa. Lydia was right beside him.
"You're right," I responded while getting up from the wooden chair and I made way to the room.
My room was right opposite from the lobby so I could hear even the slightest of noise. I heard Jack and Lydia talking quietly.
"I'm sorry I missed it," Jack spoke.
"No, it's alright," Lydia responded. "He's your family; you needed to be there for him."
"Hey, you're family too," Jack replied. "Do you think we made the right decision?"
"With Jen?" She asked.
"I mean we have to make sure everything is safe for the child," he continued. "How will we support her too?"
"We'll figure it out," she responded with a pause. "Like we always do."
That was the last thing that I heard from the room as I slowly started to drift into unconsciousness. It had been a long day and I felt as though I needed the rest.
"Who are you?" Jack inferred.
"My name is Lydia," she responded while setting her blonde hair back with her right hand. "You have to help, please!" She seemed to be wearing a yellow-colored shirt that was covered in red, which contrasted with the white-colored pants that she was wearing. Lydia looked to be in her early twenties and her blissful eyes gave her a unique glow, especially at such a time.
"Tell me exactly what's going on?" Jack continued to interrogate.
"Little easy there, guy?" Red poked Jack. Jack began to calm down a bit.
"I have been trying to run and look for help for the past month!" she responded. "But everyone that I meet has either been trying to kill me or have been killed."
"I know what you mean," Jack replied. "We'll help you, okay."
"We will?" Red asked. "Just kidding." He gave an awkward smile to her.
"So, what do you say?" Jack asked. "We're on our way to this nearby hospital to hide out there for the next couple of days."
"I say... I'm walking on sunshine! Woahhh, I'm walking on sunshine," she responded ecstatically by singing. Then I noticed her voice sounded very much like Red's and by the time I realized it, I woke up to hear Red's incoherent lyrics as he sang in the morning. I could barely get out of the hospital bed so I turned around to look at the clock which said that it was almost eleven in the morning. I quickly rushed out of the bed and changed my shirt and made my way to the hospital cafeteria.
