Jayden sleeps in on Saturday till 12 pm. He doesn't really want to get up. He's so confused. 'I don't get it.. When did Leah suddenly decide this? I don't think I'm really sad, though... I'm overthinking it, aren't I?' Jayden thinks to himself. He decides to call Noah and talk to him about it. He was so confused last night, to the point where he was struggling to comprehend much, so he was unable to call either of his friends.
The phone buzzes, and Noah picks up.
"Hey, Noah?"
Noah speaks, "Yeah? Do you need something? Because if so, make it quick! The movie Sam and I are seeing is about to start."
"Yesterday, Leah cancelled our date. And we're not having one at all now. Why do you think she would do that? She said because she doesn't think I have feelings for her."
"Hm, well, do you?" Noah responds.
Jayden thinks for a moment, "Not really."
"Then, you're good. Don't overthink it! Now, I've got to go! Bye," Noah says quickly.
"Bye," Jayden mumbles and hangs up the phone.
He sighs and stares at the ceiling. The silence fills the room. For a moment, at least.
Suddenly, his mom burst into his room. She yells, "Get up!" Thinking that Jayden is still asleep. "Mr. Harden wants you two boys to hang out."
"Why?" Jayden moans, not wanting to see Isaiah.
"He's just trying to help you! Plus, his son doesn't have many friends and you two seem to be getting along," Carly explains, urging her son to get up and get changed. "You're going to go pick him up."
Jayden frowns, "Fine."
He pulls himself out of bed and starts getting ready. He showers, brushes his teeth, brushes his hair and changes into a blue hoodie and black ripped jeans.
When he walks down stairs, his father looks at him, slightly sad.
Mark starts, "Could you wear something nicer?"
"Why? They aren't royalty, or anything. Besides, it's Saturday. This is normal attire," Jayden defends himself. He starts getting riled up.
Carly gives her son a sadden look, "Calm down, sweetie. Your dad wasn't trying to upset you."
Jayden rolls his blue eyes. "Whatever."
Carly tries to give her son a kiss on the forehead, but he pulls away. He rushes out the door.
She pouts, looking at the ground. She's happy that he's back to arguing, because that's what he normally does. But he's being harsher. Taking everything so much harder. It worries her.
Mark notices, "It's alright, honey. He's just in that phase. Hopefully this friendship will change that," He says encouragingly. She kisses him on the cheek, and smiles.

Jayden drives his car, not very happy about this whole plan. He's not feeling great today, and wonders if his dad is right. 'I thought these clothes were fine. Aren't they?' He looks himself up and down when he comes to a red light.
Jayden doesn't have much time to think through it, because the light turns green. He feels nervous, he didn't feel this way just last Sunday. Now his stomach is practically doing flips.

Isaiah pulls on decent looking clothes. They weren't his usual preppy clothes. Today seems like a day that can be used as an excuse. If his dad says something, which he will, he'll just explain that this is what Jayden would wear, or something like that.
He jogs down the stairs wearing blue jeans, which are not ripped because his dad would never let him wear that, even if he used an excuse. He has a plain white t-shirt. To top it off he's wearing black vans, a clothing item his dad doesn't know he owns. He hopes his arms are hidden well. He doesn't want anyone finding out.
When he gets downstairs, surely enough his dad is standing there examining his son's clothes.
"Hm, isn't that a little casual?" He says casual like it's a bad thing.
Isaiah nods, "Yeah."
"You should change," Matthew glares, disapprovingly.
Joanna and Beatrice were standing there, both thinking that Matthew is making a big deal out of nothing.
"This is what Jayden would wear. Don't you want me to fit in with him so that we get along?" It's a smart move. The type of idea his dad would approve of.
Matthew's face changed to a surprised smirk, "Yes, that actually may work. Carry on. Now, go wait outside."
Isaiah nods and jogs out the door, leaning against the wall of their house. The sky is dark, gloom looming over them. It's obvious it will rain soon. He frowns at his short sleeve being his only warmth. But it's too late to walk back inside.
He gets a text.
Joanna - Nice work :)
Isaiah - Ikr? I can't believe he bought it
Joanna - Good luck with Jayden
Isaiah - Thanks
Joanna - I've got to go! Dad keeps looking at me in a peculiar way, he's onto me! Love you
Isaiah - Love you too, shortie
He can imagine his sister grumbling at the nickname, she starts typing but doesn't send it. It's probably something offensive. He laughs, quietly.
Honk!
The noise makes Isaiah look up. Pulled up in front of his house is Jayden. Jayden has his window down, "You coming or what?" Isaiah jogs down the driveway and gets into the passenger side of the car.
Jayden looks at him with a weird look. He looks mad, sad, and happy all at the same time.
'Is Leah right? I mean, does he have feelings for me?' Isaiah sends Jayden an intrigued look. Jayden starts driving again, looking away from Isaiah. The music playing in the car is rock, the genre doesn't surprise Isaiah. Jayden looks like the type to listen to rock.
"So," Isaiah starts, "Where should we go?"
Jayden thinks for a moment, "The park, if that's alright with you."
Isaiah nods, "Sounds good."
Isaiah knows that Jayden is referring to the biggest park, the kind with playgrounds but plenty of space for the older kids to hang out in. The drive is only 5 minutes, since the playground is just outside of Isaiah's neighborhood.
The music is the only sound in the car.
"We're here," Jayden mumbles to Isaiah.
They climb out of the car, having no idea what lies ahead of them.
