"Kashi." I mumbled half asleep.

"I've got to go baby, I'll be back in an hour." I could only hum as Kakashi pressed a kiss to my forehead and left the apartment.

I heard Rowan pad into the bedroom and lay down. The morning sun was barely breaking over the horizon when I glanced out the window, making me wonder where he had gone. I looked to the calendar, it was mid April, Saturday-oh. I laughed as I sat up, Jirayia's new book came out today.

"He's such a pervert." I laughed as I stood up.

"You read them too." Rowan offered as he flopped over on his side.

"Whatever."

I went to the kitchen and started making breakfast, knowing Kakashi hasn't eaten yet. Just as I sat the last dish on the island, Kakashi walked in, two books in his hand. I smiled as he sat them on the coffee table and met me in the kitchen. He pulled his mask down and kissed me before sitting at the island with me.

"You didn't have to cook." Kakashi said as he started eating.

"I don't mind cooking, besides, you cook all the time."

"I enjoy it." Kakashi took another bite before adding. "It's good. You're getting better." He smirked.

"Shut up." I grumbled. "I always had someone cooking for me. When I traveled, I just ate out, or dried meat and fruit."

"Jirayia never cooked?"

"I wasn't with Jirayia all that long, really. Haku cooked when I traveled with him and Zabuza." I internally winced when I realized what I said.

"You've had a lot of skilled teachers." Was all Kakashi said. "Your father would be proud of the kunoichi you've become."

I whipped my head up swiftly and Kakashi gulped. "What?"

"Anyone would be proud of you, so I'd imagine your father would be. And your mother." He was trying to cover his tracks.

Question those you hold closest.

"I have a meeting this afternoon." I changed the subject quickly.

"Oh?" I could see Kakashi was trying to figure out a way to fix his mistake, but he couldn't.

"Just at TIF." A lie, a bold faced lie.

"I'll walk with you."

I shook my head, "Rowan and I are going to train a bit before I go. I need to practice with both tantos more." That was true, having a blade on each calf was something I had to adapt to.

"Are you sure?" Kakashi knew he was in deep shit.

"Yes." I smiled, though we both knew it didn't meet my eyes.

"I knew you'd come." Danzo stepped from the shadows of the trees surrounding the Root hideout.

"What's the cost?" I hissed.

"I want to watch you read it."

I scoffed. "You expect me to trust you with my secrets?"

"I already know them." He pulled the scroll out.

"That's it?"

"Watching your world come crumbling down around you, then the rage that will storm, it'll be worth it."

I walked closer, Rowan close behind, I extended my hand, palm up, and Danzo placed the scroll into my hand. I jumped back, the scroll felt like lead, the weight of the secrets weighing it down. I took a shaky breath before I bit my thumb and opened the seal. Minato's hand writing filled the scroll and I willed my hands to quit shaking.
