Peace.

It didn't hurt anymore.

I floated in fictional time as the fatal hands of water wrapped me in a calming embrace. My vision was no longer darkened by the suffocating water but raven like a starless night in sheer tranquillity.

Somehow, I found my mind drifting towards my mom.

Andromeda Kailey Hunt.

She had decided to give me her maiden name before Geoffrey made her a Walker. I fought hard never to let my thoughts stray toward her. For, it always resulted in a hollow ache in my chest.

I didn't know if I ever would stop feeling it.

Lying in the womb of the water; however, I knew nothing would hurt me anymore.

Nothing would touch me anymore.

I felt at peace.

I was barely aware of what was happening, simply waiting for my consciousness to fade away completely.

And then, it did.
