Y/n L/n's Survival log: Entry 1.5
You slid down the ladder, a feeling of guilt rising up in your chest as you stared at the card on your chest.
"Ashley... I'm not sure if I can do this..." you spoke to the card, walking over to the storage container you put the PDA in, opening it.
It seems you missed them in the rush, but other than the PDA, there were two objects in the lifepod: a nutrient block, and a rubber suit. You grabbed the rubber suit, holding it up to your height. From the folds, a note fell. You looked at it, picking it up. It was written in plain handwriting.
Rubber will seal out the water, so you will be safe, Y/n. Survive, and remember that day, when your Winged Hussar arrived.
~Ashley DurnhamThe note fell to the ground as your hand started to shake again. You wiped away the last of your tears, grabbing the PDA and suit, putting on the latter.
It was a tight fit, but you were able to get the helmet on, sealing you off from the water around you. You tapped the PDA's screen, as it flickered to life, unscathed despite its recent tumble.
"Rebooting in emergency mode..." the PDA let loose some ramble about how you survived the crash, before a single voice took it over.
"You did it, Y/n. Now just keep living for me. Alterra won't be able to track that PDA, and no distress signals can reach Alterra, thanks to a little something I did, so you'll be safe. Just live. There are blueprints for an escape ship, but you'll need to find a way out yourself from here. I'm sorry about this all, I really am." Ashley's voice went silent, leaving you alone once again.
You sighed, suppressing the emotion this brought up. Every time you heard her voice, you wanted to cry. You looked to the hatch on the floor of the lifepod, and opened it, taking your first dip into the water of planet 4546B.
"About time you showed up." Marie muttered, watching you show up in Octo Canyon, Hero Suit equipped.
"Sorry, got a little backtracked yesterday." You told her. She shook her head, waving you towards the outpost.
"Just go on. No time to waste, is there?" She told you. You shook your head, walking out.
The levels brought no real difficulty to you. In fact, you rather enjoyed getting to use the various weapons Sheldon had you use to collect data. Currently, your favorite weapon was(or rather, were), the duelies. They gave you so much room to move around, dodge, and just be mobile, something you appreciated in a weapon.
Before you knew it, the boss kettle had opened, and you were getting ready for your next fight.
...
...let's face it, the Octo Samurai was just as repetitive as the Octo oven. All he did was gain an attack or two every time you splatted that tentacle, while you were left throwing curlings bombs to let you move through his ink.
It took a few minutes, but this battle swiftly ended, and the Zapfish was yours to claim.
"Great work, Agent 4!" Marie praised you, as you got on you way back.
