Y/n L/n's Survival log: Entry 60

  You felt... weak.

The Kharaa had traveled through your system to the point where you simply sat yourself down, placing a quick base down near an exit to the lost river, and took a moment to contemplate what you had left going.

Your hands throbbed in pain, as you sat, in the ever familiar fetal position. It was all you knew in containment, and it had become instinct to enter it whenever you felt depressed. You sighed, thinking over your options.

The Kharaa had a two week incubation period. You were getting close to it, and as such, close to death. You may as well lay down and die at this point.

Out of nowhere, your head began to hurt, and a warbling echoed in your skull. You held your hands to your head, almost falling over. The pain was significantly less than last time this happened, but you couldn't focus on anything. Your vision blurred.

"Come here.... to me...." a female voice spoke again. You slammed your fist against the wall, standing up. All at once, the pain vanished, your head cleared, and all was silent.

"...." you took deep breaths, grabbing your PDA. You still needed to go deeper. This cavern went on, and you didn't know what kind of secrets it would hold.

Several weeks had passed since your time on the Aurora, and you still hadn't checked the data from the PDA you picked up. Tapping away at it, a download button eventually appeared. Weird.

You hovered your finger over it, before pressing it. It took a moment, but about a hundred different things appeared at once. Blueprints, voice logs, video logs. All under one PDA. You slowly sat back down. The logs were sorted in chronological order, with the first one called 'A needed explanation.' It was a voice log. You pressed the play button.

"Hey Y/n." The PDA fell to the floor with a clatter. Ashley's voice was soft as it always was, with a hint of sadness.

"If you got this, then you found the PDA I left in my cabin. I knew you'd do it. Listen, the ships going down in a few minutes, so I need to hurry." You nodded, even though the one you were nodding to was long dead.

"I tried to have your life spared, I did. I wanted you to be set free, to be brought home. But... they wouldn't let that happen." You heard a sniffle.

"I don't know what you'll find on that planet, but I need you to fight it. I have recorded and sorted most of my attempts to help you, so you can listen for yourself. I also have attached several things you'll need. Most of the blueprints in the fabricators are attached, it's as much as I can cram in. 4546B is aquatic, but I'm putting more blueprints in, like machine parts, or transmitters. If you decide you like living on that planet, you could even make a remote controlled vehicle. Anyways, there's also a blueprint for an escape rocket." It was faint, but you heard her sigh.

"There's also a few random messages you can play, if you want to hear my voice again. They're mostly just motivational messages and all, nothing special. But..." she was stopped when a loud blasting noise erupted.

"...shit. I don't have time, Y/n." Her voice began to break.

"I'm... I'm so sorry I can't join you down there Y/n. I want to, but I need vengeance for those I lied to. Those I condemned to death. I.... I'm proud of you. I really am...."

"I.... I love you, Y/n." A sound of a door slamming open echoed, and the voice recording cut.

Tears streamed down your face as you picked up the PDA, stowing it away.
