the rain felt like sharp knives as it hit your skin roughly. it was getting hard to see as moved around the deck of the ship with hongjoong yelling commands from the wheel.

the enemy pirate ship sailing straight for the aurora made you unease as you heard hongjoong yell fire! and the canons shot immediately after causing a slight ring to your ears.

"y/n, what the hell are you doing up here?! it's dangerous, get below deck now!" jongho yelled over the storm as he grabbed your forearm.

"no! let me help!" you said back right as hongjoong turned the ship in order to avoid the enemy's which caused the aurora to slightly tip to the side. you lost your balance slightly but thankful jongho was there stop you from falling.

"go to the kitchen with seonghwa-hyung if you want to help. it's too dangerous up here with the storm and that damn ship," he says pushing you towards the door that leads below deck.

"be careful jongho, alright?" he smiles reassuringly as he nods.

"i can't believe those bastards got on broad," seonghwa says as you listen to the commotion on the deck. "here, love, just in case," he says handing you a kurki.

"do you think some will come below deck?" you ask as your eyes shift to the door.

"sometimes but it's only ones that manage to sneak past jongho and yunho and they usually run into mingi before making it here."

"shouldn't we go and help though?" you ask eyes full of worry and fear for your other lovers fighting.

"hongjoong doesn't want you fighting. you're still too inexperienced, love," he says placing a hand on your shoulder.

you were about to say something but the door bursting open distracts you as a man come into the room. seonghwa is quick to push you behind him as he glares at the enemy.

"i knew i saw a female on board back at the docks. she'll be a nice addition to my collection," he says as he draws his sword ready to fight seonghwa.

"i won't let you touch her," seonghwa spits as he also draws his sword.

you watched as the two pirates fight angrily with one another. it isn't hard to tell that seonghwa is stronger than the other man.

your eyes widen in horror as the man punches seonghwa causing him stumble and the guy pulls out a pistol aiming it at seonghwa. instincts kick in and you run up grabbing the man's arm trying to fight in for the pistol.

"damn bitch! let go!" he screams as he rips his arm free before punching you causing you fall but you recover in enough time to grab the kurki seonghwa gave you and stab the man in the leg.

he cries out in pain as he aims the pistol at you before quickly shooting at you. he only manages to shoot your arm before seonghwa stabs him in his chest. the man's blood splatters across your face and clothes as seonghwa removes his sword making the man fall over dead.

seonghwa immediately tosses his sword to the ground in favor of looking at your bullet wound.

"damnit why did you put yourself in danger like that!" he scolds as he uses a rag to apply pressure to your wound.

"i didn't want you to get hurt. we protect each other," you say as you rest your body against his own.

"are you guys okay? i heard a gunshot!" mingi says bursting into the kitchen out of breath. he takes in the scene before him from the dead man on the floor to seonghwa and you sitting on the floor. "y/n what happened?" he seemed to have noticed seonghwa pressing the rag to your arm.

"i got shot," is all you say and the poor quartermaster looks like he'll pass out from that new information.

"well we manage to get the enemy to retreat and thankful the storm isn't as bad as it was," he informs you both and you're happy to hear the news.

"let's get you to yeosang," seonghwa says as he picks you up bridal style and carries you to the deck where yeosang will be tending to other's wounds.

"what happened to my precious y/n?!" san all but screamed as he ran up to you.

"an enemy made it to where we were at and y/n helped me fight them but ended up getting shot," seonghwa explained as he placed you on your feet as you waited for yeosang to make his way over to you.

"hey can you guys handle the body in the kitchen," seonghwa says to yunho and jongho would quickly nod before heading down to the kitchen.

san and wooyoung are quick to bombard you with questions if you need anything or if you need to sit down. you tell them a quick i'm fine as yeosang finally comes over to you with worried eyes.

"love, let me see your arm," he instructs and you quickly remove the rag you were holding to show yeosang. "thankfully it's not that deep but it will when i get it out."

he's right, it hurts like a bitch when he digs the bullet out and applies ointment to it. after wrapping it, yeosang smiles at you warmly as he kisses your cheek before moving onto the next wounded person.

you turn around to notice hongjoong standing next to you, he face emotionless as he looks at you. his eyes look at your bandages arm before going to eyes, he doesn't say anything as he pulls you into his arms.

"don't do something so reckless like that again." he warns and you nod. "but i'm proud of you for defending yourself and protecting seonghwa," he adds.

"thank you, captain, but maybe i should just focus on repairing the ship rather than fighting from now on," you say as you step away slightly to look at him and he smiles at your words.

"i wouldn't have it any other way, y/n," he says as you both kiss right before you're dragged away by san and wooyoung.
