"i'm home!" you hear husband!san say as he enters your shared apartment. "y/n?" he calls out when you don't answer right away like you usually do.

"i'm in here!" you reply back and you hear san's footsteps leading into the your shared bedroom. he immediately greets you in a back hug as he nuzzles his face into your neck. "welcome home," you say and he hums before kissing your cheek.

"what's this?" he ask, looking at the box that rest on top of your bed.

"a present," you say turning in his arms, "for you."

"for me?" his are wide in shock and you nod before stepping aside and sitting down on the bed next to the box.

"open it," you tell him and he goes to sit on the other side of the box. his hands rest on the lid on the box before opening it. you watch as his eyes widen in surprise, mouth opens as he gasp at what's in front of him.

"did you make this?" he ask as he reaches to take the quilt out of the box and into his lap. his fingers run over all the pictured squares as he looks at each one carefully. "this is... this is like all of our most precious memories wrapped into one."

"well that was the idea," you confess with a laugh as you watch him slowly unfold the quilt. you bite your lip as you wait for him to finally reach the last square. the one with the news of what he had been waiting for, for week now.

he gasp before turning to look at you, eyes glassy with tears and you know that he finally saw it. "does this mean..." he trails off and you nod vigorously in reply. san doesn't waste any time in engulfing you in his arms before kissing you and telling you all the emotions he couldn't express with words.

san finally pulls away leaving the both of you breathless before he looks down at your stomach and places a hand on it gently.

"i can't wait to meet you, my precious," he whispers, he kisses your stomach before looking back up at you. tears now running down his face, "i love you so much, y/n. thank you. thank you for making this wonderful quilt and thank you for marrying me and starting a family with me."
