Once we got home, everyone went and got changed into something we could hunt in. I threw on some black leggings and a black hoodie. I left my hair in a bun and raced downstairs. Nessie was wearing some leggings, a jumper but she also had a coat. As she can actually feel the cold Bella wouldn't let her out without one. The rest of my family were wearing similar things to me.
Edward picked his daughter up and exclaimed "Lets go get our Christmas dinner!"
We all laughed but followed him out of the house. our hunt wasn't a classic hunt. Yes, we fed, but it was mainly us running around and having fun. I played hide and seek with Emmett. We all played tag, even Eddie joined in...believe it or not... it did happen. And when Ness couldn't keep her eyes open a second longer, we ran home.
I messaged Seth as soon as I got home before jumping into the shower and washing the dirt from the forest off of me.
I walked out of the bathroom and jumped out of my skin to see Seth laying on my bed. There was a bag sitting next to my door.
"For a vampire who has super hearing, I always seem to scare you," Seth laughed.
I flipped him the bird and walked into my closet. Seth followed me in and started rummaging through my clothes.
"Hey, leave my clothes alone!" I laughed throwing a sock at him.
"I'm just helping you pick something to wear," Seth laughed pulling underwear out of my draws.
I rolled my eyes at him and grabbed some black high waisted skinny jeans, a loose grey top and my black leather jacket.
I grabbed some underwear from Seth and kicked him out while I changed.
"You know, it would look better without all the bits on top," Seth called through the door.
"You wish!" I called back.
I tucked the top into the jeans, grabbed some grey Vans sneakers and walked back into my room. I french braided my hair into two plaits and tied my shoes on. I wore my dads ring on a chain around my neck as well as the locket from Seth. I wore my Cullen crest bracelet and ring.
"Right let's roll," I stated when I was finished.
Seth grabbed his bag. And then grabbed my hand before we left the house.
We decided to walk to the clearing. No point in rushing and then sitting anxiously.
We talked absentmindedly about pointless things while walking through the forest. The birds were chirping in the treetops, and it felt like any normal day. But let's be honest... we would probably be at war this time tomorrow.
When we reached the campsite, a circle of log seats had been set up and a single tent was sitting off to the side of it.
"Tent first?" I asked.
Seth nodded and we headed towards the other tent. We didn't go to close to it. mainly because I didn't want Seth's snores keeping Nessie up all night.
We unpacked the tent and started to try to assemble it. I say try... we were horrible at it.
"Are you telling me in your 100+ years on this earth, you have never put a tent up?" Seth called from somewhere under the tent while I stood to the side laughing.
"I don't sleep babe. I have no need for tents," I called back "Where even are you?"
His head poked out of a gap in the material and I burst into laughter again. I was too busy trying to stop laughing that I didn't see Seth fighting his way out of the tent. Probably for the best, because if I saw that, I would never have stopped laughing.
But suddenly I was on the floor in the snow with Seth on top of me.
I cried out before bursting into laughter again. Warm lips on mine halted the laughter and I kissed back softly.
"Can we focus now?" Seth asked when we broke apart.
"Definitely not," I winked at him pulling him back in for another kiss.
"That tent isn't going to build itself," Bella's voice came from somewhere above us.
"Well we definitely aren't going to be able to build it," I responded giggling slightly.
"Have you looked at the instructions?" she asked.
"Instructions?" I asked confused.
"There's instructions!" Seth complained climbing off of me.
"There was some paper. I threw it back in the bag," I told him shrugging.
"I worry about you Elizabeth," Bella muttered.
"That comes hand in hand with being related to me," I grinned at her jumping to my feet and watching Seth pull the instructions out of the bag.
She rolled her eyes at me and walked away leaving me to help Seth. By help I mean I held the poles. And handed them to him when he needed them. I mean let's be honest here, I had the most important role and we all know it.
Finally, the tent was up. Looking a bit tipsy but it was up. We set up Seth's bed inside before wandering around the clearing.
It wasn't a very big clearing. The main clearing was just through the tree line. But it would be comfortable for tonight. Sheltered enough from the bulk of the snow anyway.
Me and Seth sat on the logs hand in hand, watching as the different covens all started to join us. Some smiled at us. Others ignored our presence (The Romanians). Bree and Diego came and sat with us when they arrived, and we sat in silence. I think we were all being eaten alive with worry to be perfectly honest.
Very slowly, our deaths grew closer.
