Paul in Athens (Acts 17:16-34)

By Dr Marilyn Bouniu

As the Apostle Paul

Was passing through Athens

His spirit was provoked

When he saw the idols

He reasoned and spoke

Daily he taught

Although he was mocked

Attention was caught

He stood before them

Addressing their thoughts

A new message to them

About an 'Unknown God'

Whom they had an altar

But did not know who

They were philosophers

Eager to know who

So the Apostle Paul

Shared about Jesus

The Creator of all

Who came to save us

Some perceived

He was talking nonsense

Some believed

In the resurrection
