Faith strengthened

It came across my mind today why I had to go through so much pain and suffering. Being immature in faith, God had to make me grow. Going through all the pain and suffering strengthened my faith in God so that I will not be easily pulled away from Him.
It is sad to see so many turning away from the faith. Ironically, my suffering brought me closer to Him, without which I would have been easily stripped away, having nothing to anchor upon. This painful path made Him so real in my life. It wasn't pleasant, but it was something I needed.
