A thick fog covers the area.

You can't tell where you are.

There's a roar in the distance.

Like last night, a black dragon and a white dragon are fighting above you. They shoot fire and lightning, ambition in their eyes.

This time, N is standing beside you. He doesn't look at you.

"N?" You try to grab his arm, but he shakes you off.

"Reshiram," he growls through gritted teeth. "Use fusion flare."

With a howl, the white dragon shoots a huge ball of fire that rivals the size of the sun at the black dragon.

The black dragon flies back, then looks at you.

Waiting for a command, you realize.

"Have you already lost your will to fight, Y/N?" N sneers. "Don't you want to save your beloved Unova Region?"

The ice in his voice almost sends you to tears, but you don't falter.

"Zekrom...use fusion bolt!"

The black dragon pauses, then dark clouds swirl around it. With a roar, it releases a surge of blue lightning.

"N? Why are we fighting?" you ask.

He doesn't answer.

"N?"

He finally turns around, eyes like daggers. "Reshiram. Dragon rage."

Reshiram lets out a snarl, as if saying no.

"Do it!" he screams, tears in his eyes.

Reshiram turns to you, looking pained. It opens its mouth and purple energy swells around it.

The sound of your pulse racing echoes through the area. Time seems to slow down as Reshiram expels a wave of furious energy right towards you.

No way...

You wake up with a scream, flinging yourself into a sitting position. Sweat runs down your forehead and you're breathing heavily.

N quickly jolts awake as well, startled by your yell. His hair sticks up in a couple places and he's wearing a white t-shirt that's slightly too big.

"Y/N? Are you OK?" He kicks his blankets off and gets up, coming to your side.

You open your mouth to respond, but nothing comes out.

"Was it a dream?"

You nod, swallowing. A part of you hasn't registered that it's N there with you. You look to the side and see him looking concerned, his hand on your shoulder. You flinch back, remembering how he looked in your dream.

He smiles gently, unfazed. "I'll give you a minute to calm down."

You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding.

The events of your dream flash through your mind.

Dream?

Right, just a dream.

"How are you feeling?" N asks, handing you a cup of warmed milk.

"I'm fine," you reply.

He sits down on the bed by your feet. "It must have been a scary dream, huh? Do you want to talk about it?"

You shake your head.

"That's fine. You don't have to." he gets up and moves to the other side of the room. "Once you're finished with the milk, try to get some more sleep. It's still early, after all."

After a few minutes, you set the cup on the ground and lay down in the hopes of getting a good sleep.

As soon as you close your eyes, it seems like you can feel cool sparks gliding across your skin, then the pain as each one explodes. You squeeze your eyes shut, trying to ignore it.

Suddenly, there's warmth.

You open your eyes a crack and see N kneeling beside the bed, holding your hand. "It's alright Y/N. I'll stay here until you fall asleep."

You offer a weak smile and close your eyes.

Time skip a few hours

Light peeks in through your closed eyes. You wake up, much more gently this time.

N is asleep, holding your hand, resting his head on his free arm. He breathes softly, features outlined by the morning sun. His eyelids flutter, and he slowly raises his head.

"Ah, good morning Y/N. Did you sleep well?"

a. "I did."

b. "I didn't"

c. "What about you?"

a. "I did, thank you."

"That's good. I figured today we'd continue on our journey, so it's important to be well-rested."

b. You shake your head. "I didn't."

Though you hadn't dreamt of much this time, it still felt somewhat uneasy, like you could turn around and see something horrifying suddenly there.

"Aw, that's too bad. We'll take it easy today."

c. "What about you?" you ask.

It can't have been very comfy where he's sitting.

"I slept fine. Don't worry about me!"

He flashes you a smile and stands up. "We should get some berries from the farmer's market here in town. After that, we'll head out to Chargestone Cave." He steps into the bathroom, most likely so he can change clothes.

You yawn and Lampant floats up to you. "Hi trainer," she says sleepily. This is probably the calmest you've ever seen her.

By the bed N had been using, Zoroark gets up and slowly trudges to the bathroom door, then curls up and goes back to sleep.

N comes out and almost hits Zoroark with the door. "Ah! Sorry buddy." He opens the door a little more and squeezes through so not to disturb the sleeping Pokémon. "Are you ready to get going?" he asks you.

You only have one set of clothes, so you don't need to change. You nod.

"Right, then let's get going!"

A/N: Look it's me. I gotta hurry up and write this next chapter so I can publish ittttttttttttttttttttttttttt
