Lampent floats around you as you follow N through the farmer's market. She gets easily distracted by everything the stalls have on display.

You grab one of her arms and pull her closer to you. "Hey, I don't want you getting lost."

N stops suddenly, and you almost run into him.

"Lampent likes these, so I'll get a few." He speaks to the owner of the stall and purchases a bunch of Oran berries.

Zoroark gets his attention. "Hey! Let's get Leppa berries too!"

N smiles at him and moves to the next stall, buying what his Pokémon had requested.

Time skip and we're just gonna assume everyone here has magical pockets

A few kilometers away from Driftveil City is a tall mountain with a cave going through it.

"Watch where you step," N tells you. "There are electric currents running through this cave. Oh, and one other thing." He pulls out a small pin with the Team Plasma logo and attaches it to your shirt. (or whatever you're wearing) "I made this last night. If you wear it, other members will know you're a part of Team Plasma and won't attack you."

"Thanks, N," you say.

The four of you step into the cave, but it isn't dark at all.

The whole cave is illuminated by a mysterious blue light coming from large rocks scattered around.

A couple of Joltik hang from the ceiling and a Galvantula crawls behind one of the blue rocks.

N smiles at a Tynamo. "Electric-types love it here, I bet we'll see a lot of interesting Pokémon."

"There you are, N."

The four of you freeze at the sudden voice.

Ghetsis comes out of the shadows. He wears a large black cloak and holds a cane bearing the Team Plasma symbol.

N is quick to step in front of you. "Ghetsis..."

"Is that any way to speak to your father?" Ghetsis finally notices you. "And who is this? You're travelling with some random grunt?"

"I have given them orders to come with me. And you are not my father figure in any way."

Zoroark growls, showing his teeth.

"Be careful what you say or do, N. The Shadow Triad are here. And they will come out at my order."

N's brow furrows, then he shakes his head. "Why are you here, Ghetsis?"

"Well, you left without letting me know. I was concerned."

"Like hell you were concerned," N mutters.

"After all, what if I had gotten the impression that you..." He trails off, keeping N hooked on his every word. "Had run away once again? Whatever would I do?"

N's eyes widen, as if remembering something painful. He slowly sinks to the ground.

"Yes...I'm sure you don't want that to happen again. Now you, grunt."

You raise your head.

"Make sure he doesn't step out of line."

You nod quickly.

"Now, I'll be off. Goodbye, my son."

"Just get out of here!" N grabs a fistful of small rocks and throws it in Ghetsis' direction.

N stares at the ground, his expression blank.

Zoroark comes to his side and licks his cheek, earning a reaction.

"Hey!" He scratches Zoroark behind the ears and stands up. "I'm sorry about that. Let's just...keep going."

A bit of the way through the cave, he grabs your hand.

"Are you OK?" you ask.

"Not really. I ran away a lot as a kid, and the punishments were never good. First time I got yelled at, second time I got hit, third time I-" He takes a sudden shaky breath. "Third time was dragon rage."

"You mean the move?!"

"Yes, the move. Ghetsis has a Hydreigon."

You stop walking and hold both his hands.

a. "I'm sorry that happened."

b. "Is there anything I can do?"

c. "But, why would you run away so many times?"

a.  "N, I'm so sorry that happened."

"Don't worry about it. There's nothing that can be done at this point."

b.  "Is there anything I can do?"

"No, it's alright. You being here is good enough."

c. "If the punishments were so bad, why'd you risk running away so many times?"

"Well, family's tough. And Ghetsis is... well, a terrible person. In my mind it didn't matter what the punishment was, as long as there was a chance."

He continues along.

"But, you're an adult, right? Ghetsis shouldn't be watching you so closely now, right?"

"Even so," he says with a sigh, "to Ghetsis, I'm nothing but a tool. Of course, now that I'm older, I can roam the region as I please, but I have to return at least once a month. I may seem free, Y/N, but there are many strings attached to that freedom."

"Sorry," he says. "I didn't mean to sound all depressing."

"It's fine," you say.

"Hey look! The exit!" Lampent chirps.

Sure enough, white light floods in through a hole in the walls of the cave.

As soon as you step out, N pulls you to his chest as a huge gust of wind attacks.

"Careful, it's pretty windy here." He lets you go and you take in the sights; the mountains tower above you and a small city sits there. There's an airport, surrounded by a large runway, and a Pokémon Center nearby.

"This is Mistralton City. The Gym Leader here is a pilot." He points to the north. "And up there is Celestial Tower. Would you like to go and pay respects with me?"
