Promise By The Ferris Wheel (N x Reader)

Part 17: Meeting with Colress

 You make your way back through the tower and through the small forest path.

"Well that was exhilarating," N says. "I wouldn't have expected to run into the two legendary Pokémon."

"I was caught by surprise too," you admit.

"But I think it's strange how we both felt something there. It seemed like we were being called there, you know?"

a. "Right? Something was definitely calling us!"

b. *shrug*

c. "I think you're imagining it."

a. "Right? Something was definitely calling us!"

"Ha, I'm glad you understand what I mean. Like, it all fell into place too nicely that we were in town the very minute the two dragons awoke."

b. You shrug in response.

"Maybe I'm overthinking it."

c. "I think you're just imagining it."

"I could be. I tend to get excited about these kinds of things, sorry."

"But even so, just think about it! Here we are, witnessing the beginning of a new legend!"

"It's good to see you so cheerful, my Lord N," someone says from behind you.

N turns around first. "Colress?! What are you-"

He shushes him. "Before you get all riled up, I will clarify I am not here on Ghetsis' behalf." He pulls out a clipboard. "I am in fact here to speak with Y/N."

You look up.

"Why do you need to talk to them?" N asks.

"None. Of. Your. Business." Colress grabs your arm and drags you into the Pokémon Center.

"Hello Y/N," he says. "I trust you've been well?" He gestures to some tables and chairs, and you two sit down.

You nod.

"Good, good. Now I will not waste any more time. I am here to speak with you regarding your current situation."

"My current...situation?"

"What situation?" Lampent demands from your side. You had forgotten she was there.

"Oh, is this your partner?" Colress shakes her hand (?) and continues. "Anyways, I've been doing research on the machine, as well as tracking down other trainers I have brought here."

"And?"

"You said you suddenly felt a sharp pain through your head before you woke up here, correct?"

"Yes..?"

"Well, there were a few trainers who admitted to feeling something similar. It appears my machine sends triggers to certain nerves in the brain, then those nerves register it as pain. After that, the brain sends an alert to every cell in your body, causing you to teleport here."

(Idk if that make any sense but i sure felt smart writing that)

You sit there with a blank expression on your face.

"Therefore, either this is fairly common and you didn't die...or literally everyone I brought here died in the process."

"Uh, however, I am currently working on a machine that allows us to take a peek into your world so we may see how your family and such is reacting to your sudden disappearance." He pushes his glasses up. "With luck, the machine will not only let us see everything, but also allow us to speak to your family members!"

"So...is that all?"

"Not quite. I would like to ask you some questions. Just a yes or no will do." He pulls out the clipboard one again. "Now... were you in any other pain before I brought you here? Like a headache or anything?"

a. Yes

b. No

"Hmm, I see. Any trouble sleeping?"

a. Yes

b. No

"Very interesting. Any previous health problems I should know about?"

a. There are a couple...

b. None.

"OK, I'll remember that. Now, last question. I was able to bring you specifically because you are aware of the Pokémon World. How exactly have you been able to connect to this world?"

a. It's a game

b. It's a book

"Is that so? I never would have expected that." He sets his clipboard down. "Thank you Y/N. This is valuable information. I shall work on this new machine and test it with the other trainers, then I'll try it on you."

"Wait, who are these 'other trainers?'" you ask.

Colress' glasses glint. "Someone you've met here, actually." He starts walking away before you can ask what he means. "I really best be going Y/N. It was lovely talking to you."

You follow him out, be he seems to be gone right after he left.

N and Zoroark run up to you. "Y/N! What did he want?"

"You'd better keep this part a secret," Lampent whispers.

"He just wanted to ask me a couple things," you tell him. 

That's technically the truth.

"Colress does a lot of weird experiments. He's the one who tries to artificially make our Pokémon stronger." He scratches Zoroark behind the ears. "I don't think he's a bad person, he's just extremely loyal to Ghetsis' orders."

"Talking about my subordinate, are you?" Ghetsis says.

You and N whirl around.

"Ha ha, found you."

A/N: HAHA! A cliffhanger! Except it doesn't really matter because the next part is here but WHATEVER. I like to use big sciency words when Colress speaks, cuz he's a scientist! It also makes me feel like I sound smart. Ohohohohohoho it appears that there's some other trainer that you KNOW who also came from your world!! It was a last minute twist but I think it's. Pretty cool.
