since people love to complain and are too sensitive on this app now, it seems like this note is needed. the age gap between alona and levi is five years. yes she was 17 at the start but since people don't read further, they never know that she turns 18 weeks later. levi backs off until she turns 18 as he is 23. it wasn't his fault, she went to a club at her age and he thought she was around the same age as him since she was able to get in.
( and for the people who complain that she's in high school, i originally was going to make her a college student but somewhere in between it just shifted as i just found it easier idk but please don't enter this book just to complain the first couple chapters. read the tags which is why they're there. )

A song from my immaculate playlist ended, another played while I was hooking my little hoop earrings into my ears. Mumbling to the short song 'Beautiful Angel' by Glenn Travis; who is primely underrated, I lean across the sink to check and make sure my earrings were in tight enough. I then fluff out my natural shoulder-length hair some before smiling at myself in the mirror.
"Pretty," I said to myself with a hesitant smile.

Grabbing my phone off of the sink, my music continued to play as I walked out of the bathroom, down the hall and down the stairs, my golden strap heels clicking and clacking against the dark brown hard wooden floor. When I entered the living room, I shut the music off.
My heels caught the attention of Elijah, or Eli for short. Eli's been my bestie since fourth grade. And yes this is typical of me to say, but he is a very protective guy in general. So I wasn't surprised when he did a double take at my outfit from where he was sitting on the couch.
The look he gave was disapproval. Although I did see a bit of drool on his lip which meant that I looked good.
"Where the fuck do you think you're going with that shit on?" He stood tall, not even worrying about the action happening on the tv, his eyes too trained on my body. I grinned, doing a little twirl before facing him again.
This time his dark brown eyes looked me in mines as he folded his muscular arms across his chest like a dad.
Eli is brown-skinned like me, a fade wavy haircut and has a tiny nose ring on the side of his nose. And I'm convinced he has better eyebrows than me.
