fifteen ♔ best unity day ever ♔ part one

Most of the hundred were standing around a small screen watching Chancellor Jaha do his famous Unity Speech. Unity Day was the day when The Ark was formed. Juniper was standing on the dropship's slope listening in. 

"My friends, this is a historic Unity Day. Every year, we mark the moment our ancestors of the twelve stations joined to form the Ark, but this is the last time we do so while aboard her. Next year, on the ground." Jaha spoke and Juniper rolled her eyes, she hated how they missed out the violence part of it all. People needed to know the true. 

"Right. After we did all the work. Someone shut him up." Miller scoffed as he spoke over Jaha.

"You shut up, Miller. No one's forcing you to watch." Raven slammed back making Miller and everybody else, shut up. Jaha's voice just echoed through the camp. Juniper was looking around for Bellamy, she hadn't seen him since she left his tent earlier this morning. He was probably looking after camp and securing it.

"For ninety-seven years, we have eked out an existence, hoping that someday our descendants would return to Earth." Jaha explained as Clarke came up from behind a sulking Juniper.

"Don't tell me you don't like Unity Day." Clarke stated sarcastically, it was obvious that Juniper hated Unity Day.

"Oh yeah, I loved the pretentious parties that Dad used to throw. Or the pageants. Or the dances when I had to dance with Hunter Curtis, cause Dad liked him." Juniper laughed as she looked at Clarke. "Unity Day is a lie. The Ark only came together after the thirteenth station was blown out of the sky. Just not the version of history we like to tell each other at parties." Juniper explained and Clarke rolled her eyes at Juniper's political talk.

"Hunter Curtis, that guy would have done anything for you. I'm surprised he never did a Wells and got arrested just to come down." Clarke joked and Juniper held her head down with embarrassment. Hunter Curtis was another problem in Bellamy and Juniper's relationship. "The Unity Day story gives people hope, Juni, and peace came out of that violence." Clarke added a

"Yeah, but did there need to be violence at all? Why can people not work in harmony?" Juniper asked as she kicked her boot a little. 

"Whoo! Yeah! Monty strikes again!" Jasper screamed as he ran out of his tent. Juniper laughed as she took Clarke's hand and ran down to where Jasper was. "Hey! Call this batch Unity Juice! Who's thirsty?" Jasper asked as he began pouring the moonshine into people's flasks. "Happy Unity Day. Pass it around." Jasper added as he grinned and everybody cheered.

"To our sons and daughters on Earth listening to this message, we will see you soon. The first Exodus ship will launch in under sixty hours, carrying you the reinforcements that you need, so stay strong. Help is on the way." Was the last thing that people heard before they started the partying. Juniper grabbed two flasks and smirked at Jasper.

"Be nice." Juniper teased and Jasper smirked as he poured her the juice into her cup, with a wink. Juniper laughed before she turned her back and gave Clarke a cup.

"Take a drink, Clarke." Juniper stated and Clarke sighed. "When this ship comes down, all fun will be gone. Let's  have one night together, for Wells." Juniper smiled and Clarke nodded her head as she took the cup.

"For Wells." She smiled before they both downed their drinks. Five cups later, the pair were sitting on a log by the fire, giggling and chatting. The drink had definitely got to them.

"Remember when we used to do the pageants, our families forced us." Juniper laughed as she looked up at the stars, her hands clutching onto her cup with the moonshine in it.

"You were forced too." Clarke laughed getting Juniper's attention. "Wells and I actually enjoyed them." Clarke added as she took a swig of her drink.
