Chapter 15

PART 2

Tiana's Perspective

"I love the person I've become because I fought to become her."-Kaci Diane

NO one can understand or predict your imagination, except you. That's a belief I hold close to my heart. A month ago from today I would have never imagined I'd be hundreds of miles away from my hometown working at a car dealership and living in a shelter. Though my living conditions weren't as comfortable as desired I truly was happy. I've made a couple of friends, met some genuine people, and have learned more about myself along the way. Jumping was a great decision, even if I got a few bruises from the fall along the way. I was in the midst of joking around with Owen as he worked on a car. Somehow he had gotten his jumpsuit sleeve stuck in the hood of the car trying to yank it out. I laughed at him eating a bag of dried cranberries.

"How in the hell did you even manage to do that?" I asked continuing to laugh at him.

It was my lunch break and Ally was off today, so I spent time hanging out in the garage. Owen and I had become associates within the course of a few weeks. I had learned three things about him so far. He loved cars, he was hella goofy, and his favorite color was green.

"I don't know, shit it's probably because you were lookin' so damn hard." He said snatching his arm out of the hood ripping the sleeve in half.

My mouth fell open as he stood back looking at part of the jumpsuit sleeve stuck in the car's windpipe.

"I'm not payin' for that shit." He said scratching his eyebrow.

"But you did it."

"Be quiet they don't know that." He said laughing.

"I'm just fuckin' around I know how to get it out." He laughed throwing the jumpsuit around his waist leaving out his top half which was covered in a plain grey tank top exposing his glistening muscles.

He turned around reaching for something in his toolbox giving me a full view of his back. His extensor muscles flexed as sweat trickled down from his neck. The garage light reflected perfectly on his chocolate glazed skin. I hope no caught me eye raping this man. I sucked on a dried cranberry watching him with huge Bambi eyes in admiration only dreaming of what he looked like up under that gray shirt. I tilted my head to the side trying to view every aspect of him without notice blinking my eyes at a turtle's pace. He turned back around smiling showcasing that right dimple in his check holding up a tool I didn't recognize.

"I hope this shit works." He lifted back up the hood using the tool to force the jumpsuit sleeve out.

"You can't just use a random tool that's dangerous." I chewed on my bottom lip continuing to watch him. Even when he did utterly ridiculous things he looked sexy.

What was wrong with me?

"I don't give a damn if it gets the job done." He continued pulling at the sleeve.

"How do you still have a job?"

In no time the sleeve appeared out of the hood as he smirked at me, "cus I know what I'm doin' mama." He walked past me bumping my shoulder slightly going over to the trash can to dispose of the dirty sleeve.
