Owen's Perspective

DIRT and microscopic rocks continuously hit my wheels as I drove on the dirt road. I nodded my head at the random music playing on the radio watching what was ahead of me. To my right, Tiana sat clutching onto her overnight bag staring out the window quietly. She looked cute today and even wore a little makeup, it was easy to tell she had started dressing up a little more for me. I wasn't cocky about it, but I did take pride in knowing she had done something like switching up her appearance for me. Her body language was hard to miss, something was off. I bumped my shoulder with hers leaning back in my seat grabbing her attention as she turned around with big eyes looking completely distracted.
"Hmm?" The quiet sound echoed from her mouth.
"What's up with you, why you all quiet now all of a sudden?" I gave her a charming smirked causing a giggle to escape her lips.
The way she reacted to me was always a turn on.
"Nothing it's just that I thought we were only going to pick up your dog."
"We are," I shrugged.
"At your parent's house?"
"What's wrong with that?"
"It's just that this is not what I imagined meeting your parents for the first time would be like. Plus we've only known each other for three months and we've only been exclusive for like two days. I don't know if I'm ready for something like that."
I laughed hysterically as she rambled on finding it hard to watch the road, "baby chill out it's not like that I'm just pickin' up my dog."
"But this is still their first time seeing and talking to me Owen. I am a woman involved in your life romantically, that's a big deal especially to mothers."
"Nah you ain't gotta worry about nothin' my folks cool as fuck very down to earth and shit."
A wave of pressure released from her in the form of an exhale as she laughed.
"Okay, I just wanted to make sure."
"Trust me you good." I grabbed her shoulder holding it tight to reassure her.
"So how many girls have you ever brought home before?" She asked holding onto her wrist.
"Two"
"Really?"
"Yeah first girl was in high school we went to prom together as friends so they kind of had to meet her. Second, was a serious girlfriend of mine."
"Very few huh?"
"I'm cautious about who I bring home and private about who I'm with. Don't need my family bringin' up a bad ex over and over again to clown on me and shit."
She chuckled, "I like that."
I glanced over at her holding my lips in a tight line observing her body.
